Yep, because every one in emulation buy every single game they emulate.

And sure we can pretend the specs of SteamDeck is equivalent to SwitchPro or whatever spec Sony would go for their handheld that would coexist PS5.

You have the best selective posts i've ever seen, or you just always see what you want to see. Care to explain where i said everyone who emulates buys their games?. In fact did you miss this from me " I am also sure that many people do just use them for "Free games", but the is also many people who just use them to reply old games they already own in better quality", i mean it was only like 3 posts above yours so dont know how you missed it. But saying that im not surprised.

And no one is pretending anything. If Nintendo had made a Switch Pro instead of the Oled you would be lucky if it even matches the Steamdecks specs.

And we are never going to get another Sony handheld so the steamdeck is the next best thing as its the only handheld (Along with other Handheld PC's) that can play Sony games in a handheld form.

We are talking about emulating Switch, so stop the non-sequitur of very old SW not available to buy anymore or on current HW.

Will you say that the majority of the people emulating Switch on their PC have the game purchased and just decided to skip the advantages of mobility to play it again in a better version (reminding Nintendo fans usually claim graphic is very low on their priority list) of that game? Be sincere.

Yes sure... the display of the steamdeck isn`t even much better than the regular Switch from what was posted here. Plus you would be losing some of the efficiency of the closed platform plus it being a emulation that also takes more of the resources.

100% wont happen, but I would love to be so wrong. I loved my PSP Go.

Take another beating against Nintendo and jeopardize the stationary division? Better focus on Ps5

That's unfortunate you think that way.

Your assumption is that Sony would play their cards the same way they did before and that the outcome would be dominating for Nintendo.  If Sony can come up with a new plan and has the extra resource then why not? But I guess you also think Nintendo should give up on home consoles too because their Wii U bombed correct?

Regardless, there's nothing wrong with competition and it'll be a win for us gamers. Are you also negative towards the Steam Deck?

I said when the Vita was winding down that the only way I could see Sony releasing another handheld was to turn it into a legacy and streaming device closely tied to PS Now. It could emulate or stream old PS games and remote play or stream modern ones from the cloud, but there would be no original or bespoke games made specifically for it. I could still see this concept happening at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.

No. You need to make the analysis based on macroeconomics, rivals' force, own force, and weakness now. Better for gamers is not the same better for company.

Macroeconomics now with a problem with production high tech things is not good. Launching a secondary product in this way, for a big company with problems with supplying its own prime product, is not a good thing. Second, do you know why Sony lose two times against Nintendo? Sony never prioritizes their portable market, PSP and Vita always seem second citizen treatment. Nintendo sees the portable and stationary on the same level, just look for Pokemon mainline exclusive for portable line ( Switch is a hybrid and have this because is partially portable).  Sony abandoned Vita for focusing on PS4 is the key factor for better profits and stabilizing the game company side. Good support for two consoles is difficult, Nintendo only makes this in two times: Nes and GB, and DS and Wii. And have big problems with maintaining good support after this.

Sony with PS5 is losing Japan and partially East Asia. Just looking for Media Create and Cesa White Papers. So launching another device and bringing good support will improve this or will doom more this situation? Share forces and make the main competition in this area stronger, because Switch will benefit from the New sony handheld seems not a good strategy. Also, Microsoft will hold the USA now, with Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard,  so launching there is not a good form with competition but weakening the company.

So the win for we games seems more problems for the company than benefits, in the short and long therm, open for more risks and make Sony more vulnerable for the future.

A legacy product, with Psone line, is not the success equal Nes Mini or SNES mini, and this aways a niche product, even when make success.
