Nah more like 40 million.
No way, not unless MS starts boxing hookers in with each Elite.
I figure on 35m with a max of 40m. If the stars aligned properly and MS continued to sell it for $129 into 2013 or something, it might edge just a little over that but not by much.

I think around the 30-40 million range, but it will sell better than its predecessor

why r u comparing the 360 with the PS2? the 360 is competing with the PS3 if u haven't noticed - past userbases don't matter that much
and u never know - What is MS started giving away 360's for free? U never know
dsoverpsp said: yes and one question - Does anyone else find it weird that there is a thread titled "will PS3 hit 100 million" and the 360 one is titled "Will the Xbox 360 hit 50 million?"?. Shouldn't it be the other way around considering the PS3 is still quite a bit beind the 360 in lifetime sales? Just a thought. |
No, not weird, and no, it shouldn't be the other way around.
Please, remember your confusion in 3 years' time, in 5 years' time, and then say, "oh."

This is a joke right?
I think it all depends on how well 2008 goes for Microsoft ...
If sales pick up Microsoft will (probably) plan to launch the next XBox in late 2011/early 2012 and they will (potentially) break 50 Million XBox 360 systems sold by the end of the generation.
If sales remain about the same as they have been Microsoft will launch the next XBox in late 2010/early 2011 and the XBox 360 will fall short of 50 Million sold.
If sales of the XBox 360 begin to drop off Microsoft will launch the next XBox early in 2010 and fall far short of 50 Million XBox 360 systems sold.
