Hrmm... I have never seen Porgy and Bess, but I really like listening to the music. So many classical pieces inspired by Jazz. Great stuff. I love the true classics too, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Handel, and so many others.
Have you ever listened to "I've got plenty of nothin'?" or "I've got Rhythm?" or even "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess? Insta-classic.

I love various composers, ranging from Haydn to Vivaldi, Beethoven being a particular favorite of mine. :) Some of my favorite pieces: Vivaldi's the Four Seasons, particularly Winter and Spring. Mozart's Symphony #40 Beethoven's Symphony #5 Beethoven's Symphony #6 Beethoven's Symphony #9 Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata |

I don't really have a favorite orchestra (or a favorite conductor for that matter) but I do have favorite composers. Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Berlioz, and a few others.

People may not think it really matters who performs a piece...but after listening to the CSO for so long...I can only hear the problems with other orchestras.

hmm, I love to play classical music.
My favorite piece is 'Grande Valse Brilliante' by Chopin, which I'm partial to because It was my first real classical piece that I learned on my own when I was 13. An exchange student from Japan brought it over with her, and after hearing her try to learn it, I decided to try myself.
After that I started to get piano lessons from a professor who had his own teaching studio.
I still play a lot of Chopin, but I also like Mendelssohn, Bach, Gershwin, and others.

I like classical music a lot. Its much less painful for my ears compared to things like rap and heavy metal music. I don't think I have a favorite orchestra though, I like them all so long as they play me nice music.
