Forums - Gaming - Something about Alan Wake II is making me nervous...

Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time. I played it back in 2012 along with the standalone DLC American Nightmare. I have both on Steam. It's a really beautiful game. A love story with great atmosphere, and fun gameplay. Like a lot of people, I was waiting for a sequel for a very long time.

One thing I really appreciate about Alan Wake is how the game manages to be scary, but not too graphic at all. I mean, we have a couple of scenes where dead bodies are on screen, and there is a bit of blood, but yet, it got a T rating, making it Ok for people over 13 years old. And that was great, because I think the lack of blood and gore makes the game even more beautiful.

But some things about the Alan Wake II trailer is making me a bit scared... First of all, that "PEGI 18" at the beginning. And to make things worse, the trailer is age restricted on Youtube, to prevent people below 18 years old to watch it.

This makes me think... Are they turning Alan Wake into a pool of blood and gore? I mean, I'm totally going to play it, In fact, I can't wait. But to be honest, the original game had a very beautiful atmosphere with moderate violence, and I would rather the developers to keep it that way.

I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid...

Around the Network

Well, Sam Lake literally said it's going to be a full on survival horror game, so...yea...the tone is going to be vastly different than the original.

Yeah, I heard about that. I suppose survival horrors are meant to be pretty graphic.

I'm still excited, though.

Yea, as am I. It'll be rather different from the fist game, but as long as Remedy have a clear vision of where they wanna take this story, and this is the game they wanna make, then I'm looking forward to playing it. Hopefully it turns out great.
