They are though, there are not mainline entries/new generations like say Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet that introduce a bunch of new Pokémon.

| Torpoleon said: @curl-6 If that's your only criteria, then you are wrong because Arceus introduced new Pokémon. Both Legends games are core series games. |
Not a new generation though, just a few. Didn't have the x/y designation either.

I can see DK easily breaking through 10mil. It’s legs are comparable to SMOdyssey and Zelda BotW, and it’s an early gen release. Maybe 3D Mario will hurt its legs, but I still think the game will reach the highs of LM3 at the very least. And if not, then KirbyATFL (which is tracking to eventually hit 10mil).
Updated through March 31, 2026!
ACNH is so close to the 50m club. Mario Odyssey is now wedged right in the middle of the first two NSMB games. Should surpass NSMB DS by the next update or the one after that and then be in the top 10! NSMBU DX, Switch Sports and Mario Wonder continue their battle for 20m and the 10th place spot on Switch 1's best sellers. I personally think all three will get to 20m, but Switch Sports probably has the best odds of being the definitive 10th best seller if rumors are true of a Switch 2 Edition.
Jamboree is so close to 10m. I do wonder if we will get an update on it next FY, but if we do it would probably be closer to the end of the FY due to how they count Switch 2 editions (which is different from how I'm doing it). Mario Maker 2, Kirby and Jamboree could hit 10m one day and we could just never know.
We'll see if Bananza does one day, but it does feel like sales have slowed. Since it was a near launch title, I guess that is to be expected though. Will probably leg it out. Surprised that other Switch games didn't reach 1m this FY, like Luigi's Mansion 3 & Bowser's Fury.
Updated through June 30, 2026.
ACNH has now become the third Nintendo game to cross 50m. Mario Odyssey is tied with NSMB DS, so I put it above that game since it will obviously pass it in the next update. Now half of the top 10 is Switch games. Should pass RGB by the end of the year, possibly in the next update.
NSMBU DX continues its crawl to 20m, now less than 1m to go. We'll see who gets there first between it, Switch Sports (especially with Resort being a new game) and Wonder.
I added Jamboree to the list because even though the last known figures for the Switch 1 Edition are 996,000, we now know that the NS2 Edition shipped 1.15m and I combine those with NS1 games (frankly, it's obvious that the NS1 Edition did it on its own anyway).
With Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream at just under 8m sales, it is very likely we will see it join the 10m club as well, possibly within this FY! Should be the last NS1 game to hit 10m that we'd know about (there's still the possibility for Kirby and Mario Maker 2 but we might never know). Maybe Kirby's NS2 Edition will hit the Top 10 on Switch 2 so we could gauge from there.

Nintendo made a slight update on their Top 10 list. For Switch 2 Editions they now say what the cumulative sales are when combined with Switch 1 versions. Only games this applies to so far are Jamboree and Z-A. I've updated my list accordingly. Games like ACNH and BOTW don't have this likely because their Switch 2 Editions haven't sold enough to be in the top 10 yet (and we'll see if that even happens).

So if I'm reading this right, we're up to 23 games on Switch 1 that sold over 10 million?
Absolutely insane numbers, more than Wii and DS combined now.
Truly a historic gen for Nintendo following the downturn of the Wii U/3DS years.
I also find it impressive that Switch has 9 games in the 20M+ club with NSMB U Deluxe heading in that direction at 19.1M. It's very likely all of Switch's top 10 will be 20M+ selling games.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
