why do people just mention "in the NA" come on now, look at the world picture

Which, IMO, favors the 360 even more. The PS3 is very shooter-heavy this Christmas season while the 360 has L4D & GeoW2. The 360 also has Banjo and Fable, which should be at least moderate successes in Europe. The PS3 has LBP, which should get a few people excited about the console but that game is a huge wildcard at this point.

Is there some big Euro-centric or Japanese-centric game that I'm missing for the PS3? I keep looking at that lineup and seeing a bunch of shooters and LBP. That doesn't exactly cater to non-NA gaming tastes.

Final Fantasy XIII coud come out in Japan this year, and MotorStorm isn't a shooter is it?  And it's sold extremely well, in OTHERS where it's not  bundled (1.5 mil according to VGC).

I think that the PS3 has a very nice holiday line-up aside from shooters.  You've also failed to mention a possible Uncharted 2, which has sold it's best in Europe also, and FFXIII which will sell awesome in Japan.

But the 360 does have a good holiday line-up this year.  I am totally excited about Fable, and Gears 2, but LBP could be very big.  I don't think it will bomb, but I think this could be huge, especially in Others.

XIII wont come out this year, SE have said that they do not want to have 2 big hitters coming out in the same FY, so DQ IX will be out this year, plus they are happy to let the install base increase

MS was bundled in Europe, but not from launch, or with every console, in most countries there were a number of options avalible

Uncharted 2 wont be out this year, ND have said that they will have similar dev times as to PS2, where they had 2 years between Jak 1 and 2, and then between 2 and 3, and another 1 for X

I mentioned earlier that LBP is a huge wildcard. It's impossible to judge how that game is going to do. A lot of factors will combine to make that a success or failure.

No way does FFXIII release this year anywhere. I think SE themselves have come out and said that it's going to be 2009 but I don't have time to check right now. Uncharted 2? No way. A one year turnaround for a game is unheard of in this generation unless it's casual or simply new content (Guitar Hero) on the old interface.

Are you sure that Motorstorm was never bundled in Europe? I could have sworn there was a R:FoM/Motorstorm bundle in Europe but I could be wrong.

There was, but it was not in every country, and in most places you got a choice of 6 games or so (of which those two were the best) and also look at Insomniac for turn arount times

Question :
Do you think that GoW2 will outsell GoW1 ( i mean LTD) ?

Either way, a significant portion of MS's sales probably came from bundles.

Even Insomniac has a two year turnaround on its games. 12 months would be insane.

Insomniac have released a game every year on PS3 (though I beleive that they are roughly split into two dev teams (or something like that) so the game in reality has a two year cycle but they are released every year), only a studio like Ubisoft montreal could match its output of PS3 games

Gears of War 2 is bigger than any of those games. But that is an impressive lineup non the less.

GoW was the real halo for the 360... GoW 2 will be the halo 2 so, gears will sell more than all those games.

End of 2011 (made 02/01/11)
Wii: 99.453 m
Xbox 360: 67.837 m
Ps 3: 60.726 m

Best Games/Serie of the Generation

but will it move as many now considering the PS3's hit games

Since I really doubt that many people have both a PS3 and a 360 the pretty awesome PS3 lineup should be the smallest problem of Gears2. I am sure that it will sell very good although (unless there are some awesome changes) it doesn't have the same unique appeal as Gears1.

I mean Gears1 was the first REALLY good looking game on all next-gen consoles. Besides that I do not see much extraordinary: story is mediocre, its short, no cool enemies or settings (IMO). But it looked lightyears better than anything else.

The same cannot be said for Gears2 unless Epic has really stepped it up. But I seriously doubt that it will look much better than Call of Duty4, Killzone2... We are not in the first year of the console life-cycle anymore. On the plus side it has lots of Gears1 owners to sell to.

Yeah, I forgot MS was bundled in some of the "others" with R: FoM and another sixaxis.

I hope ND can put out Uncharted this year, seeing as that insomniac can do a game a year.

FFXIII has been in development for frickin' ever.  It has to be coming out soon, I don't see how they could make us wait another year for this game to come out.  But I'm probably wrong, and they'll make us wait forever.
