Forums - Nintendo - Your bad experiences with the Wii

Nintendo's online strategy sucks. All the other complaints people have about the Wii like the casual games and wiimote controls I actually like. But I really wish they would get with the program and revamp their online experience. If they're real worried about predators online have some sort of adult verification service like needing a credit card. Sure people can get past that easily when you're underage but at least then the blame isn't on Nintendo.

Sorry to hear about that. My friend had a similar moment during Mario Party 8, although she was lucky enough to have that rubber sleeve on it at the time, so there was no blood, just bruising. Hope everything turned out well for your sis.

As for me, my worst experience was when I was playing Umbrella Chronicles, trying to S-Rank mission 4-1 on hard. I was almost finished, when the IR started to get really jacked up. Naturally, during that three second interval, one of those stupid monkeys finally snuck in and killed me. That's when I discovered that Wiimotes and sunlight don't mix.

And I was *totally* going to S-rank it that time too. *cough cough*.

My worst experience? I was playing Mario Party 8 (hate that game) on the last stage. I was winning, I had several candies, then I stolel a star from the koopa leaving him with only one. After that, I land on shuffle tile, he gets all my candy, then he plays and steal one star, then he land on a reverse tile, I get a 2 on the dice, he uses another candy and steal 2 more stars. I was so angry that I almost threw the wiimote on the wall. In the end I played that shit for 30 turns and we tied.

Yes the multiple friend codes is really annoying to me too. Hopefully they will fix this. They can easily do this by making the parental controls control if the gamer has access to online connectivity and just the Wii code number with a new channel to add your friends as friends in other games would work wonders to solve that problem. They can do most of this with a firmware update I believe.

"Like you know"

My first Wii's DVD drive started to sound like a small turbo-prop in my living room so it went off for repair. The repair service was exceptionally well done, however, so no gripes there.

I will say that my negatives on the Wii are the amount of shovelware that keeps coming. I know the box is capable of clean, smooth motion controls but some games implement it poorly. Other games just plain suck.

I'm looking forward to some good software on the horizon, but if third parties don't get it together and release some AAA titles on the Wii, my daughter is going to grow tired of it and it will be gone... She spends about equal time on the 360 at this point and there doesn't seem to be anything on the near-term horizon she is interested in (besides Okami and Kart)

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Sometimes I'm playing a game ...and then I realize its like 4 AM and I should go to bed...

...seriously that happens a lot =/

To Each Man, Responsibility

Sometimes I have to unplug the Wii and replug it in to get it to load up a game. That and I play it way too much.
