It really depends for me. I'd say I prefer most of Nintendo's home console game library wise, but I'm definitely partial to handhelds as far as actually playing games is concerned. It's so much more convenient and cozy. I will say the 3DS is by far my favorite Nintendo console in every single aspect, it has the best library of any console they've ever put out, so that alongside the fact that I just prefer handhelds makes me lean more toward those, even if it's skewed toward just one handheld. (I am a big GBA fan as well though)

In addition to the big screen, consoles also tend to, in my experience, have much more comfortable controls. I'd held and used every Nintendo handheld and console at least once, and for the most part their console controllers feel great, while the form factor of a handheld inevitably makes them less ergonomic to hold and the buttons/sticks more cramped.
