I've actually only ever reported 2 posters, both of whom were then banned.

I agree with dtewi's suggestion though, a standard "Action has been taken" reply could at least lay the minds of trigger-happy reporters to rest.

I quick response button could be useful for mods. basically have 3 or 4 buttons like:

Action has been taken

no action is warranted

warning has been given

stop bothering me for stupid crap

If I responded to every bullshit report I see, I wouldn't have time to post.

Trust me, if the moderator thinks your report was in the right, something was done about it. Remember that we're not only moderators. We also work, write content for the site, and do a lot of other things related to the site that regular users do not see. I'm sorry but we just don't have the time to respond to every request. There are times I have logged in and seen 10 reports in the queue. For what you guys are talking about, that's half an hour of work to read the report, check the thread, warn the user, report the warning on the moderator forum, and then give you guys a pat on the back for a job well done.
