Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Lack of Traditional 3D fighting games on Switch is unfortunate , There might be a reason?

ARMS and My Hero whatever. Also Pokken.

Just not a lot of them made anyway.

Those are Arena Fighters , not Traditional 3D.

That means I never played a traditional 3D fighting game.

Maybe you played these? These are also 3D fighters

Fighting Vipers

Sonic the Fighters

Plasma Sword

Rival Schools

Fighters Megamix

Bloody Roar series

Tao Feng

Force Five

Fighters Destiny

Battle Arena Toshinden

Tobal 1 and 2

I was fairly certain I was the only person in the world who remembered Plasma Sword.

Nope, never played any of these.

Well they did kinda lose their luster after the early 3D days. After people got over the novelty of playing fighting games in 3D the fighting genre mostly went back to 2D (sometimes with 3D graphics) because 2D fighting games are largely better. There's a place for 3D fighting games but 2D fighters is the much bigger market, so it shouldn't really be surprising that there aren't that many on Switch or any system. Battle Arena Toshinden was probably my favorite.

Mortal Kombat 4 + all of the ones from the PS2 era.

I remember the reviews for Brawl. The online play is great and it works half the time, 10/10!

Tell me, do you really think you think developers want to service a fanbase like that?
