Forums - General - Moral Question: If were promised impunity, would every murder anybody?

The prime reason why only a small percentage of the populace commit crimes is not because only a select few feel like doing it, it is rather the fear of consequence.
If given the opportunity, a kind of "freebie crime" with no aftermath, the vast majority of people would commit pretty serious crimes.
Murder? Quite a few, I know of a couple of people in my home county I wouldn't mind seeing dead to be honest.

Are we talking about "ability to kill anyone without actually doing anything or anyone knowing it was you" or "ability to not get in trouble if you kill someone with normal means"?

If the former, oh hell yes. If the latter, probably not.

yes

Yes. Hell, that's something I would pay for.

What right do I have to judge people?
No. NO! That's exactly what i've been thinking all along. This world is rotten. We'd be better off if the rotten people died. Somebody has to do it. Even if it means sacrificing one's own life and soul. Thing can't go on like this! Even if someone else were to pick up this notebook, there's nobody in the world capable of eliminating all the evil people. But I... I can. No... i'm the only one who could do it.
I'll do it! I will use the Death Note...

to change the world!!
