Forums - Gaming - Most overrated games!!!

I forgot one, Metal Gear Solid 2. The worst MGS game ever. The retarded story alone would make it a crappy game, but the gameplay (or lack of it) makes it worse. I do not even believe they would call the Fortune fight a boss battle. Vamp sniper battle was also lame.

Halo 2
Gran Turismo
Resistance
Assassins Creed

I'll 2nd that, I never got the big deal about God of War to be honest. Maybe because I generally hate 3rd person action games (Assassin's Creed was one exception though), but I never got into it at all, same with the Prince of Persia series.

Hurrah! yet another thread in which fanboys can pay out hit titles on other platforms!

Being serious though:
- Halo 3: fantastic game, but it didn't stand a chance to the hype

- Final Fantasy 7: Being the first game from a series on a platform is no excuse, I mean FFX > FFXII, it wasn't even the hype that killed this, more like the legacy it left, I got a copy just before it went platinum and I was disappointed. Graphics were poor, gave you choices that didn't matter in the end (like who you courted), overly complicated story line to the point of un-necessary. EDIT: I Should point out that I'm a huge fan of FF8, which is why I believe FF7 was overrated, FF8 had better graphics, a more compelling story and the best side-game in ff history: Triple-Triad.

- Zelda: OOT - It's a good game, but honestly, it wasn't perfect as so many like to believe

- Killzone 2: Though I often pay people out for judging a game before playing the retail copy, I'm calling this one a flop. Way too much hype for it to succeed. Hell, I would say the level of hype is greater than Halo 3's! if you take into account the difference between the quality of Halo 2 and the quality of KZ1. At least H3 hypers had a platform to stand on, KZ2 hypers got nothing.

- Super Smash Bros Melee: I bought it expecting SSB with more characters, more weapons and more arena's. Turns out Nintendo tried to turn it into a deep fighter that even casual gamers could enjoy. I was disappointed.

-SMG (The game had bad controls and a bad camera)
-Zelda games (I found this series to be really boring, and not very fun)
-Metroid (i could never understand why these games were rated so high, they were ok, but not good)
-Half Life 1&2 (Now this is a series where there is no good points, just one boring level after another, i could never understand why people love it,)
-Halo 2&3 (The first one had a great story and was fun to play over and over again, the other two had bad stories and never lived up to the hype, but i still played the storys like crazy. i never played online)
-MGS1 & MGS3 (I played as much as these games as i could before giving up on them, bad controls, bad camera, and a retarded story)
-wii sports (It was okay for about an hour max, i could never see this game lasting longer then that)
-Rock Band (Played it at Future shop and hated it, i found nothing good about it)

Thats all i can think of right now, i'm sure there are lots of others.

Bioshock, that game didnt deserve the Game of the Year on Spike TVs VGA (and very few nintendo games were there (SMG wasnt even nominated for GOTY) Yeah you might be asking *why are you watching that show?!* but i just do and they're all baised.

Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto series, I play both and I dont like them.

Wii Sports - fun game that appeals to everybody, but it really gets boring after a while

Sonic Rush - not as good as the originals on the genesis. Sonic went TOO fast that I didn't even know what was going half the time. I also hated the boss battles.

Elite Beat Agents - It was pretty funny, but it didn't really deserve all of the good reviews it got.

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!

Halo 3 ( I blame the hype)
SMG ( not as innovating as SM64)

These are my choices too. Well, not Halo 3 exactly, but the Halo series. Halo three was probably the best of the series. Halo 1 was hugely hyped, and when it came out was no where near as good as a mediocre PC FPS.

SMG was fun, a very good game, but I lost interest in it half way though, and went back to HL2. R&C held my interest longer then SMG.

GTA series, Halo series, GOW (both looked great though), Galaxy, Patapon(it was heavily pimped on this board at least), Eliet Beat Agents, GH series.  I dont hate rythim games as I really liked playing DDR.

More to come.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
