Hurrah! yet another thread in which fanboys can pay out hit titles on other platforms!
Being serious though:
- Halo 3: fantastic game, but it didn't stand a chance to the hype
- Final Fantasy 7: Being the first game from a series on a platform is no excuse, I mean FFX > FFXII, it wasn't even the hype that killed this, more like the legacy it left, I got a copy just before it went platinum and I was disappointed. Graphics were poor, gave you choices that didn't matter in the end (like who you courted), overly complicated story line to the point of un-necessary. EDIT: I Should point out that I'm a huge fan of FF8, which is why I believe FF7 was overrated, FF8 had better graphics, a more compelling story and the best side-game in ff history: Triple-Triad.
- Zelda: OOT - It's a good game, but honestly, it wasn't perfect as so many like to believe
- Killzone 2: Though I often pay people out for judging a game before playing the retail copy, I'm calling this one a flop. Way too much hype for it to succeed. Hell, I would say the level of hype is greater than Halo 3's! if you take into account the difference between the quality of Halo 2 and the quality of KZ1. At least H3 hypers had a platform to stand on, KZ2 hypers got nothing.
- Super Smash Bros Melee: I bought it expecting SSB with more characters, more weapons and more arena's. Turns out Nintendo tried to turn it into a deep fighter that even casual gamers could enjoy. I was disappointed.
