There must be a lot but the three ones that i immediately think about are :
the final fantasy series
the metal gear series
the gran turismo series (in fact i like them a lot but it's about time people realize this is not a real simulation)

Bioshock.

FF7 is a fantastic game during its age. if u played it now when RPGs had evolved and improved of course u think its overrated.

I forgot about WoW, craptastic for some, heaven for others. I'm in the first category.
Perfect Dark Zero; such a massive letdown after the N64 one.
Age of Empires III, good solid game with loads of new features and sick effects/visuals, but where has the fun gone?
SOCOM; I always hated SOCOM, perhaps because I didn't have broadband at the time.
Splinter Cell series, every new installment is the exact same with a few touch-up's on graphics and a new gimmicky move by Sam.
CS Source; good visuals... that's about it really.
SSBB, I did like it better than the previous installments but that didn't take a whole lot.

Halo 3 (I have played it, Mr. Hatchet)
Mario Galaxy (Extreme fun, but not 9.7 average-worthy)
Mario Kart 64 (See above, replace score w/ constant praise)
WoW (again, see above)
Metroid Prime series (" ")

Also, IMO the first Perfect Dark was the shit. It was definitely superior to Goldeneye.

As for myself, FF7 and Halo 2.  Bioshock to some extent.  Actually I don't see Halo 3 as that overrated anymore; around launch people were calling it the best game of all time but that silliness has died down AFAIK.  Unless there is an ocean of xbots I'm not seeing (and there probably is) ...

Oddly enough, I think Portal is overrated a little bit.  Don't get me wrong, the game is exquisite, but some people talk about it like Jesus Christ could reincarnate as a game developer and try to make a better game for his whole life and never come close.

If Sunshine is bad, then every other Mario game made is bad.

It's certainly a lot less linear than Galaxy, which is a good thing in my book. 

wii sports is undoubtedly the most overrated POS in gaming history... it's was fun for about 10 mins while i was drinking but i can't imagine anyone actually devoting time to this "game" (it's really a tech demo)
