Is this the week PS5 launched in China? Maybe part of the reason for the very low Playstation 5 numbers

Exactly, PS5 launched in China on the 15th and sold more than 50k preorder units for launch day. So it's likely the reason for the low supply on these charts.

Incredibly strong sales for post Golden Week HW-wise. The baseline is just staying up there against all odds it is ramping up to a 7m year.

Incredible hardware sales.
MHR 50% drop most likely means it won't reach 5mil in Japan anymore, so it will stay behind MHP3rd, but outselling MH4 shouldn't be an issue.
4.5-4.8mil LT is my guess then.

RE8 launched on Saturday, which makes the big PS5 drop even worse. It was extremely frontloaded.

FDC was available physically only as the very expensive special edition and sold out emidiately, very impressive. Since digital is cheaper here and both games ranked almost at the top on the eshop, my guess is that digital is higher than physical with FDC.

RFA's very small drop shows it's still very supply constrained. It didn't drop much despite it being the week right after golden week.

ACNH should have enough legs to sell a few more million units in the next few years. 12mil LT is my guess, which puts it over the entire Pokèmon Gen1.

Switch Lite has found a baseline of 20-30k I think, the hybrid model on the other hand is heavily supply constrained and is all over the place, doesn't have a baseline yet.

2021 should most definitely be a stronger year for the Switch than 2020.

Very good week for Switch, the Lite to hybrid ratio suggests normal stocks. PS5 taking a bit of a dip.

Question for you guys, now that PS5 is ahead LTD, do you think the PS5 vs PS4 table is still relevant or interesting?

not yet, top Japanese retailers with some stock issues.

Beyond supply, could also be that some of the PS5s being counted as Japanese sales up to this point were being imported by Chinese buyers.

Almost 100k and there is the new lite color coming next week.

Hardware will be up in a big way this year for H1 as Switch, PS4/PS5 have almost matched the H1 total from last year. But that's normal due to the limited supply Sony sent last year and the supply problems Switch had due to COVID and high demand.

Six weeks left this Quarter with Rune Factory 5, Miitopia, Mario Golf & Scarlet Nexus likely to join the Top 30. At this point, I'm not even sure about Scarlet Nexus as it's not even charting on COMG.

Overall Switch Software should surpass the H1 result by a little bit while PlayStation is looking like it will be down over 2 million YoY

Also I doubt any PS5 game will make the Top 30 as Resident Evil: Village will fall off and Integrade could be purchased as PS4 second hand and updated

I just notice that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe surpassed Super Mario Mario kart in japan.  That means that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now the best selling Mario kart in Japan. It happened last week but just noticed it today.

08./08. [NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo) {2017.04.28} (¥5.980) – 9.914 / 3.834.911 <80-100%> (-35%)
Super Mario Kart 3.820

Looks like it will be some time before PS5 software pulls ahead of its own predecessor on the charts.
RE8 on PS5 sold less than a quarter as much as the PS4 version in its second week.
