Psh, reviews are ALMOST pointless most of the time.  Unless a game scores below a 6 I don't really care what it gets.  Mario kart is one of the few games (along with animal crossing) that I've really enjoyed the past few years, so I'm going to be happy regardless.  Plus, I'm not one to nitpick about games, as I'm rarely disappointed in anything I try.. though getting me to try new things is a totally different story.

From watching th video review, the score looks very fair.

The IGN score is higher than I thought it'd get, but there's something I don't understand. In the podcast they're moaning that you cant mini-turbo L/R around corners... but you can :s It's exactly like Double Dash. Where they playing in Automatic only or am I missing something? It's slower to build up, but wasn't DS faster than Double Dash which is why snaking became what it was? I'm sure it's no different than DD

Also I don't agree that 150cc is overly difficult. It isn't. Yep you get itemed to death in 1st place but it's just like past MK games (and online for that matter). I really don't think there's any 'cheating' going on, it's just luck. But completing all the cups with Gold trophy and a decent rank isn't any harder than DD/DS...

8.5 sounds about right. Most reviews have been generally positive with a few gripes. It's a solid addition to the Wii's lineup of AAA games.

It deserves atleast a 8.9-9.0 IMO...I'm watching the video review right now...SO...MANY...SPOILERS!!! GAH!!!

A good score, this game looks better than mario kart 64, and I love MK64, must buy for me.

Wow, people hate Double Dash? MK64 was just OK in my opinion... I have logged so many hours in Double dash with the people in my house that I know every square inch of the game and I still love playing it.

If the reviews are saying MK Wii is BETTER than Double Dash... I'm in for sure.

I'm not so sure I like the steering wheel idea, though... I think I'll stick to analog control.

Be sure to try the wheel for a while though, I think you'll like it (it surprised me very positively).

Meh, there seem to be a lot of mixed reviews for this game. I'll still be getting it, and if I find that I love it, which I think I will, it won't be the first time my opinion has been inconsistent with a review.
