AOT was an excelent manga with a bad last arc and a horrible ending.

It also had a reasonably good protagonist, that evolved into an all-time great protagonist and has now become a laughing stock with almost no redeeming qualities.

131-138 should be on the other side, along with most of the 120s too.

I bounced off of the series when they went from a flashback into a time skip. I guess I made the right decision?

You missed the best part of the series, but I guess you also avoided greater disappointment.

On the one hand, everything is cool. Really interesting ending, but still somewhat "weird". I haven’t defined yet in which direction - good or bad. It would be nice to see all this in an anime adaptation.

For me the ending was quite good.

My only issue is that I think he didn't need to wipe 80% of regular humans, destroying all the military structures and ending all capability of transforming in Titans should be enough. But let's say that it makes a lot more sense to kill all your enemies to achieve peace than to sacrifice all your kin to give piece to unknow people that hate your guts.

I guess people just aren't used to sad ending and about how war is unavoidable and how most of our existence is futile and in the end nothing ever changes.

I have found the ending very clever. A bit rushed, I would have left some more space for it to breathe properly. Eren's plan was actually very well thought through, but I felt like Mikasa was used from beginning to end, which didn't help her character evolve. At least she chose to do the right thing, but kinda got herself tangled in something she couldn't control.

The manga is full of tragedy from start to end with no hope of happiness. Still the minor chars were able to meet their happiness. But well we all knew Eren would have to die, he just chose his own people instead of others (Zeck plan).

Found a good analysis by someone who re-read the manga with a focus on trying to actually understand what went right/wrong, rather than the agenda of contrarians trying to tell people 'you just didn't get it, man'.
