Why is Starcraft not included in World Million selling software sales???

It and Brood War have sold over 9 million copies and are still selling in stores 10 years after launch!!!

I know, ludicrous! It's like they aren't even tracking PC software! Oh, wait ...

The Sims,Myst, World of Warcraft, The Sims 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Theme Hospital and lots of others are in the list. http://vgchartz.com/worldtotals.php?name=&console=PC&publisher=&sort=Total

Ah, you are right. Is the PC data new? If it is, that would explain why it is incomplete.

The data itself has been here for a while. However maybe all the games are newish.

But back on topic. I was also wondering why some PC titles seem to be tracked while others are not. Even Warcraft II is counted. Wikipedia reports Starcraft sales of 9.5 million.

Well, PC market is getting smaller while the console market still grows (rapidly at the moment). Maybe they just included some famous games and don´t care about the others?

Wikipedia does a poor job of citing that 9.5 million claim, but I don't doubt it is based in truth. I have seen a 3.5 million Korean number from more reputable sources, however. It may be that it is combined sales of the game with the expansion pak, but its still impressive. VGC needs to do a better job with PC games. Period.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
