Forums - Nintendo - New 50 minutes long Nintendo Direct tomorrow

After sleeping on it, I realized that one reason this Direct will be long is because a lot of projects were delayed by both Nintendo and third parties.  We will probably see a lot of games that were originally planned for holiday 2020.  On top of that, some dev teams might have found it easier to make DLC while on lockdown instead of start a full game.  Put those two things together and there is potentially a lot of content in this Direct, even if it mostly focuses on releases for the first half of the year.

bummer this Direct literally starts when I Finish work by the time I get home it'll likely be over already I guess I'll just watch the upload of it after it's done I guess

Wonderful. I'm looking forward to another character added to Fighters Pass who shouldn't have been there, and no new information about Metroid Prime 4.

No need to be salty about Metroid Prime 4: they were still hiring the art director less than two years ago, so while they might have something to show it's not likely to be all that polished.

Now, what has Retro been doing otherwise for the past six years? IDK.

We are feasting like Kings tonight boys!

God, there is so much possibility, so many games that might appear here, that this is just so exciting.

But lets be rational for a moment, and think of everything that is likely.

Since they have mentioned that they will focus on games already announced and games releasing on the first half of 2021, it's almost garanteed that we will see:

- Smash new fighter
-Animal Crossing
-A reminder of Bravely Default II
- A reminder of MH Rise
- More footage from New Pokemon Snap
- And probably a reminder that the Mario celebration of 35 years is ending.

For the likely category:

- The Great Ace Attorney collection that leaked weeks ago. I"m really pumped about this one.
- Seeing that Capcom late investment on the Switch, that started after they saw the console success, is starting to take physical form, it"s also likely that we will see more games from them here, outside of AA.
- I fully believe that we are going to see BOTW 2 here. And yes, I thinmk that will be it. More celebration about Zelda anniversary will be left for further down the line.
- Whoever follows Monolith pipeline of games knows that they not noly are really efficient, but also that they have released something every year. And considering that we know that a new project of them has been on development ever since january of 2018, it makes it likely that we might see what that is here.
- Camelot is bound to show something. They have multiple teams I believe, and their last game was Mario Tennis Aces in 2019. So it"s been long enough that they can have something close to completion.
- Same for Hal. Probably we will see something Kirby related here.
-And man, It"s about freaking time we see something Bayonetta 3 related. I know Kamiya said to not expect anything, but he is a known troll, that likes to play with peoples heart. It's been 3 years and 3 months since the reveal. It's about time Platinum

No retweet from Soraya Saga. No Monolithsoft News.
It's getting close to a year since DE, but now it's 3-4 years since Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Their next game should come up soon.

The woman that did the retweets(I think it was Soraya her name) went on record that it stopped retweeting the directs, because people would bug her/ annoy her about that.

So Monolith is definitely still on the table.

Guys, smash wont be 15 minutes long.

It"s going to be 5 minutes tops, at the worst possible scenario. The details will be left for a sakurai presents or something like that.

Why are people so set on a Smash reveal taking up half the direct? Smash characters generally get a reveal trailer than a later in depth showcase before release separately. That is how it usually is. E32018 was unusual.

....The titles that we know of are not going to eat up giant chunks. You'd probably get a minute for something like Bravely and a minute for NMH and a minute for a Animal Crossing update, but that is plenty of time to showcase....well anything.

Could be anything from a Nintendo Girls volleyball game from the DoA guys to a F-Zero revival. We can only find out.

Because Nintendo specifically said Smash was going to be a key part of the direct? Like, it was the only game they name-dropped as an example of what's going to comprise the Direct. I mean, I'd love to just get a 2-minute trailer and the rest all be sweet-assed reveals and details on other games, but in order to temper my expectations, I figure like 20-25 minutes of this will just be Smash Bros.

And you know what? I'm okay with that. I love smash. I love it a lot. it's one of my favourite games, and having new characters added to the roster is super fun for me.

I'd prefer 5 minutes of smash and 20 minutes of a Sakurai-Presents, but this might be both in the same presentation.
