He makes a valid point. If we have to wait untill 2022 to see the power of the x then I fear it will be to late by then.

Too late for what exactly?

Like I mentioned in another thread. That PlayStation can steal the power narrative. Multyplats will look near identical so exclusives are whats gona show the consoles power. Right now the best shown games have been Sony exclusives. A lot have been saying that by 2022 MS adquisitions are gona start firing in all cylinders and I'm just wondering, by then how many games will Sony have out making the console look amazing? And how many will be in production? People ate gona say that since there are so many great games on ps5 that it might actually be more powerful.

Yep, and don't forget...

Not really RDNA 2, so it's even weaker and only has SW raytracing

Variable clocks means it's only going to be 9.2Tflops

It's design means it'll still be loud

It's controllers will break easy because of the new tech in it

The fact is the FUD has been coming left and right at the PS5. Doesn't help that a lot of it was pushed by tech channels like DF and LTT. Might be why they didn't get free PS5s.

Of course, PS does what they always do, delivers. And Xbox seems to be doing the same thing they did this past gen, "wait a year or two, the big exclusives are coming, we promise." And with every Xbox game on PC from the start, I seriously don't see this gen playing out much different than the last.

Thinking if the Xbox Series X has raytracing or not is a moot point, let's be real here, most gamers don't know what it is and won't care.

The whole tech differences between PS5 and XSX is going to be be nothing and games will look the same on both machines.

There is only one difference and that's games.
PS5 has Spiderman and Demon Souls on launch day. Two blockbuster titles. In launch window it has Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank and Horizon 2, three more huge system selling titles.
Oh and it plays all your PS4 games but Backwards compatibility is not a feature that the general public actually cares about. Hardcore gamers care, but most people couldn't give a toss.

What are the killer XSX launch games? What are the killer launch window titles? There isn't any! Microsoft are trying to sell a console with zero 1st party games that anyone cares about!
They are selling a console almost exclusively on the improvements it makes to your old games. Except almost no one has old Xbox One games because most people bought a PS4! What a stupid game plan!

I used to like Xbox, hell I own Steel Battalion on OG Xbox; that's how much I used to like the platform. But there is nothing on Xbox that is pulling me away from PlayStation, I bet a lot of gamers are feeling this way too.

I can counter PS5 has cross gen games and a PS3 remake leading the charge. No real reason to buy either console day 1 if you aren’t a hardcore gamer.

That said Game Pass Ultimate merging libraries with EA Play at launch has a level of value that is unmatched.

But you right, it’s about the games. 23 studios compared to Sony’s 14 guarantees more games per year once the momentum is going and these silly “honouring multiplat contracts” is up. It’s a mathematical certainty. 2021 looks promising for both sides. But 2022 onward is gonna be a slaughter :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Tagging just to see when this sad pile of a thread is gonna get locked.

The idea of FUD is to spread lies and misinformation. Many of these are true. Ps5 does require tools to change its orientation and to swap storage. RE8 came from a insider with a good track record. Does it mean the game won’t turn out great at launch? Of course not. The claim was that Capcom was having trouble at a certain point in time.

Ps5 costing more and overheating came from tech rumors. In terms of build cost it may be true we may never know. Fans just ran with it...like PS fans wouldn’t do the same if reversed (like they did with the heating rumor). We didn’t make it up, we rolled with industry news.

Being hard to develop for is the only legit FUD Xbox fans spreaded but that’s low on the totem pole. It’s not a damning accusation so long as the games come regardless.

I dunno. Took us until 2008 with MGS4 to really see the power of PS3. Until then it showed nothing 360 couldn't do.

It didn't take us that long to see to power of PS3. The original Uncharted game was a much more persuading testimony of the PS3's might.

Eh it looked ok. Original looks pretty rough where MGS4 still looks fine. MGS games when exclusive to Sony hardware really were some of the best looking games period.  UC1 isn't that amazing looking even then. It was not the game that said this is what the power of the Cell can do Sony hyped so much. MGS4 was that game.
