So you think a handful of influencers would be better testers than the engineering team? Influencers that do stress test on a 12-18C room, with the console over a table with everything open and plenty of space, testing a crossgen title? Yes sure that would make that Sony approach of updating the fan operation with firmware needless. |
The units SNY and MS obviously want give to influencers are definitely randomly chosen, early off the line, consumer units. What could go wrong?
No point in either company making it clear they aren't final, so that any issue can be addressed and said to be a minor issue that will be solved by launch. You also surely don't want to cherry pick early units, or use a close to final test unit that can be slightly modified to put their 'best foot forward' for marketing.
Luckily we can all rest assured no company today would ever attempt that.
I sure hope neither company has a day one update. Will have to immediately return the incomplete piece of trash because it's no doubt a last minute, slapped together, worthless product.
Those poor poor Tesla owners. Elon, how could you!
