My list has been set for a long time now. I feel like I need something to shake it up :P

6. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Kubrick's magnum opus; a cerebral, challenging science fiction epic

#1. No Country For Old Men (2007):

Nice list!

As much as I love No Country For Old Men, I think I'll always be sour about it. I feel very strongly that There Will Be Blood is the best movie of 2007 -- the best movie of the decade, in fact -- and seeing No Country win at the Oscars was a huge bummer for me. It's just a shame that both debuted the same year, because No Country also deserves praise and recognition.

Hopefully you understood the 2001 thing was just a joke since it's on my list as well (although, that's actually something haters would say, probably).

That's fine. I understand it. I get weirdly bitter for reasons that don't make a lot of rational sense as well. I haven't seen that movie in a long time so I can't really give an opinion on it, thought it was pretty good from what I remember. I think the style of No Country's storytelling would probably still put it on top for me though, but that's just a guess. I'd probably have some Paul Thomas Anderson movie in the top 10 if I delved into him, just haven't.

More difficult to list than games, since I have a pretty clear top 10 there, but here goes. I’ll make it a top 20 to cancel out the abundance of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and other sequels ;

20: The Fifth Element
19: Casino Royale (2006)
18: There’s Something about Mary
17: Up
16: Finding Nemo
15: The Matrix
14: Aliens
13: Shawshank Redemption
12: Schindler’s List
11: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
10: Dumb & Dumber
9: The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
8: Pulp Fiction
7: Der Untergang
6: Wall-E
5: Alien
4: Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
3: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
2: Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
1: The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Very difficult to make a list of just 10, and I honestly think my list would be different every day if you asked me to do it for a week straight - had to cut out loads of amazing films like Trainspotting, Moon, Mission Impossible, Pulp Fiction, Alien, Aliens, Inception, The Matrix, Rear Window, Brief Encounter, LotR, Gran Torino, Silkwood, Mad Max 2, The Warriors, Into the Wild, Fight Club, Leon, and Cube which could easily have been switched with some of the lower ranked ones.

First two are the only films I've ever given a 10 to so far. All of the others are 9s (like those above that didn't make it):

1. Gattaca

I absolutely love Gattaca too! Such a beautiful story, Ethan Hawke and Jude Law are brilliant in it.
