Will ACNH outsell all PS4 exclusives released this year combined?

Yes 23 63.89%

No 13 36.11%

Total:36

Individually of course but combined? Eh... I think it'll be close. We really need to see what the holiday is going to do for all of these games, Animal Crossing included. Though the fact that this is even an idea that could be entertained as possible is mindblowing.

Sony 1st party games only (not includeing 3rd party exclusives) sold-through 18,5m games to consumers, in its Q1 2020 (April-june).

18,5m games.

Lets assume is it do something akin to this for the next 2-3 quarters.
And then factor in the 3rd party exclusives ontop of that..

The answear is NO, Animal crossing, will not outsell all PS4 exclusives combinded this year.

There is no way that Sony titles will catch up if that is the results of their combined titles.  TLOU2, FF7, etc have no legs.  GoT is the last beacon of hope and the sunsetting of the console, Sony has nothing else lined up for the PS4 as far as I can tell.

ACNH already has a 4 million lead and will be in demand for the holidays, it will most likely sell 30+ million by the end of 2020.

ACNH released back in March....
The 18,5m for first party games only from Sony, is from April-June.
If you factor in jan-march, for sony as well, theres probably another 12m (ei. from jan->june) sony 1st pary alone is probably over 30m (this year).

Then factor in 3rd party? and the rest of the year, for all other sony exclusives combinded?
Nah.

This was a claim that wasnt thought through.
Animal crossing is selling alot, but its not anywhere close to outselling every exclusive on sony side combinded.

So it's lifetime sales of the exclusives released this year. Here goes my prediction. Nioh 2 and persona 5 royal will hit 2 million each. Ff7 remake 7 million. Tlou2 15 million and GoT 8 million so thats 36 million combined

I was thinking more for just this year to keep it a little more "fair" as the PS4 is coming to an end so most people will be moving on to other things.  If we go lifetime I think ACNH will certainly beat them as it likely has 3-4 years of shelf life on the Switch as the Switch is just getting about halfway through it's lifecycle.

Will be close and if those games get remasters on the newer hardware then it won't be close, lol.

I still think you are way overestimating the legs of TLOU2 though and underestimating the legs of GoT.

If all PS4 exclusives combinded for this year only, and ACNH will get to keep selling for years.... maybe.
However I have a feeling it will need to go over like 50m or so to do so.

Wasn't counting that period as a game that isn't for sale can't really be sold...

And yes, this claim was thought out, at most they have roughly 22-23 million copies sold of Exclusives (including 3rd party) for Q1 and that is counting things like Spider-Man, which is already catching up to TLOU2 in the store... ACNH alone has had almost 22.5 while having supply issues (hardware).

Do we have any currently known numbers for the PS4 exclusive games? Because ACNH looks like it will be selling 30mil+ at the end of the year.
The fact that this is even a discussion shows how powerful and popular ACNH is. This 1 game can actually outsell multiple popular games.

Can and will.  What's really remarkable is that I know more would be sold if they could get the hardware to play it...

TLOU2 ends the year at maybe 10, GoT the same, FF7 at 7-8, other smaller titles/remasters/etc get you roughly 5... that's roughly 32-33 total sales, all it would take is for a game or two not having good legs or Nintendo is able to keep shipping units as fast as possible.  What many are forgetting is that ACNH sold roughly 11.7m units in 10 days, so it was still able to move another 10.7 in two months... so even if it slows down and sells say 3 million in July, 1 million in August/Sept/Oct each then picks back up with 3 million in each of Nov/Dec that would be roughly 35m units...

I believe the question pertains to exclusives released this year only. Not exclusives from prior years that are still selling.

TLOU2 has no legs.

Based on what?

If there isn't anything to back this up, then it needs to stop being said. If you want an accurate topic (based on data), then data needs to be here to back it up. Otherwise, this thread will quickly find itself in the pointless bucket.

"I haven't done any research"

I suggest you do some. And fast.

No need to be aggrasive, we have weekly sales data that shown TLOU is trailing behind the like of ACNH /MK8D in major gaming markets like UK, Japan, and France the we have out sales insider as well with the same sales indication if you take a look at my post history you could find UK and Japan performances of TLOU2 vs Spider-Man and other Sony exclusives.

The answer is absolutely YES!

ACNH will sell around 30M in this year
VS
TLOU2 around 9M
FF7R around 6.5M
GOT around 6M
Persona 5 and Nioh 2 around 4M combined
Ironman VR around 100k
