Wow, and that is just physical. Not even including digital, which the game is actually perfect for.

With just physical, it could match Gold/Silver’s numbers by its 1 year anniversary next year.
With physical AND digital, it could be closing in on 10 million and Red/Green.

That's crazy 

It’s pretty insane that it’s been almost ten years since we had a game sell this well in Japan. Add to the fact that the game didn’t release in the holiday season. With COVID affecting lives and communities and the Japanese game industry not being what it once was, it’s nice to see a game like Animal Crossing New Horizons bring some light in tough circumstances.
