Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony releases list of top 5 downloaded PS+ titles

Sonic Forces and Shadow of the Colossus were both recent additions. I believe they were offered the same month in the midst of the worldwide lockdown. People were home and PS+ activity was probably way up so people paid attention to the free games on offer. Also Sonic recently starred in a hit movie.

That also checks out. The game was added to PSN+ just a couple of weeks after the movie came out.

Also, I don't know for sure but I don't think it was on Gamepass, which could potentially lead to more people getting it on PSN+. Could be wrong about that though since I don't actually have Gamepass.

I have the top 4. Destiny holds the ignominious distinction of being the only PS+ game I rejected out of hand. As forSonic Forces, it's sitting behind unnecessary elective surgery in my playlist.

Any specific reason why?

Yes! A few specific reasons actually. But I am on the move, and will be lucky to play some Megadimension tonight. "Activision", and they way that game was "Activisioned" is my response for now. 🤗

Yeah, Sega hasn't put any Sonic games on Gamepass yet afaik. Some went on Games with Gold, but Forces hasn't been on GWG or Gamepass yet.

Well I for one enjoyed Sonic Forces. More than Sonic Mania, come at me!

I didn't enjoy it more than Mania, but I did enjoy it. Was definitely underrated by critics, it is nowhere close to a 5.7/10 game, more like 7.5 or 8/10.

Well it is a free sonic game, so people didn't buy because it usually isn't up to par, but for free it is an IP that is still loved. Makes sense.

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"
