I must decide for other aspects, but for my next monitor I already know some things: flat, not curved, I didn't like any curved one I saw up until now; size 26" or 27" is the largest I can get for the vertical space I have available; aspect ratio 16:9, using it for other things too, I'd get even a 16:10 if I found it, it's the best compromise I ever found, I had a 16:10 19" before my current 16:9 22", and I still miss that ratio; refresh rate, the highest I will be able to get for my budget, but if I predict I'll be eventually using 3D shutter glasses, I'll need at least 160Hz, to have at least 80Hz per eye in 3D for acceptable comfort for short to medium periods of 3D use (not a big fan, so currently I don't see myself using it for long periods); HDR a welcome bonus if any monitor I like has it too.

Might be worth waiting for HDMI 2.1 spec monitor if you're not in a rush. Support for higher resolution/refresh rates. Variable refresh rate, dynamic HDR etc.

Well this raises a good point. Guessing PS5 and XBOX X will support 2.1 and in turn I would benefit from a monitor that supports it.

I am not in a rush for a monitor, had the same 24inch for almost 10 years lol.

Lol fair enough yeah if you are happy with what you have it might be worth waiting. I think it will be al least another year until we will see monitors and TV's with that spec mind. Would also be an option to get higher end 43" 4k TV with HDMI 2.1 support and set a custom resolution for ultrawide if the screen is too large in 16:9 and sit back a bit for console games.
