I am not shocked about the review bombing. It is a shame. It happens far too often and is why I generally ignore overall User Scores on games. What I would do is read some of the reviews and see what people who actually played the game have to say about it.

Yes that is the way to go about it!

Ignore the scoring and read the negatives and positives because those have a different weight depending on who plays the game.

Problem is since you don't know the users what reviews to choose? From 5k+ reviews which one will be well constructed with valid criticism and praise?

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

There is mostly a pattern of returning criticism/praise and that can be taken into account on a personal level ofcourse.

Sure, but how much of that review do you need to read before knowing it is well made and valid? That is the difficult.

Really sucks how it is being review bombed, meta should have locked out user reviews till at least a week after launch, so the people that play the game can form their own opinions. And also should put up a system where they can accept reviews if you have purchased the game. Even Zelda got review bombed by silly fanboys with access to the Internet. First day/2 day reviews are just plain stupid whether it’s positive or negative.

im 2 hours in so far, the attention to detail in this game is just wow. Enjoying it as I go along.

Yeah maybe,i'm mostly looking for the semi proffesional reviewers that have the most in common with myself.

And i'm just good at judging what i buy by looking at footage, except Ni No Kuni 2 this gen as that was blind dumb hype on my part but for the rest i made no purchases i regretted.

On that sure is a good way. Stick to a reviewer, youtuber or friend with similar taste and see how they evaluate the game to have an idea if it will at least be worthy enough to put the money down.

I lost count on how many times the “neutral reviewers” used the word “Forced” to give the game a plain 0/10.

But it was expected, this game created so many hype that detractors had to do something

Currently we have almost 50k reviews on Metacritic 3,9 with PSN 7k reviews with 4,5/5 stars.

metacritic users review keep climbing with possibly more real owners putting their review. It gone from 3,1 to 4,1 and now with 60k reviews. On PSN with little below 8k reviews seems like a 4,6/5
