No idea about COMG points, but in terms of sales Bayo 1 didn't fare well on PS360.

Former Platinum president Tatsuya Minami stated in an interview that it didn't sell as much as they wanted, and Sega wouldn't even publish a sequel, which is how it ended 2 ended up as a Nintendo exclusive.

Bayonetta sold in it's first week 135,242 units on the PS3 and 64,325 units on the X360 according to Media Create. It sold way better than Boyonetta 2.

The game sold through 1.35mil units until the end of the fiscal year.
They were probably disappointed because the game had a big budget.
Astral Chain was considered a big success long before it reached the million mark.

Bayo 3 will come in an era of Switch software exploding, people having discovered Bayo 1 and 2 on Wii U and Switch and some people discovering the IP on Smash. If astral chain did over a million, Bayo 3 can do around 2.5 or 3 millions imo.

Games like Bayo and DMC deserves 10 mil, unfortunately not the case while copypaste games sell tons and microtransaction earn more. Don't blame companies for choosing microtransaction

In the end Splatoon 3 couldn't beat Splatoon 2 in preorders. However it far exceeded it in terms of actual physical and digital sales.

Splatoon 3 has sold 3.45m in its first 3 days in Japan. Simply incredible!
