Looks like Kirby's strongest entry by far.

I checked the Famitsu data and the new Kirby is on track to be the biggest retail launch for a Kirby game that they have published clear sales numbers for. It’s extraordinary that it’s on track to beat Super Mario Odyssey for COMG reservations.

I’m not expecting 500,000 retail copies sold first week in Japan like Super Mario Odyssey, but it’s exciting that they’re heading past 400,000 first week with a Kirby game if this trend continues.

400-500k debut would be amazing for Kirby. Would validate the switch to 3D. I'm sure the game will score pretty well, i'm expecting around 85, might lose points cause it is apparently pretty easy. If a kirby game debuts with around 1-1.5 million WW first week that would be pretty neat.

Kinda wondering if Nintendo will go back to 2D games then. Kirby really felt like it was stuck in 2D and they don't seem too be pushing 2D Mario more. Even if DK TF is one of the best platformers, i feel like it is also underperforming and a third game could be disappointing in sales.

not pushing 2d more is a big wrong move. 

A port sells almost 12 millions, a port of new series( and these series have big lazy efforts) 

DK port sells more than 2 millions on Switch and surpass Wiiu sales too.

A new AAA 2D DK and a new AAA 2D Mario will have good sales ( 8-12M for DK and 20-25M for Mario)
