Forums - Sales Discussion - COMG! Japan Pre-Order Chart

It has probably more to do with Comg having been informed of it's allocation of Limited editions and had to cancel some pre-orders. Happens all the time there with those on all consoles, so I'm not surprised at all.

Switch is the #1 console no doubt and I do think on PS4 would do a bit better.
But the problem is not the console, I am starting to think Pokémon new game may hurt its first week sales.
I hope it does well in the long run. I already pre-order it.

I think they should have delayed it to December or launched it in mid October if possible because of Pokèmon. Hope it does well, really looking forward to it.

Yeah I reckon coming out like a week from Pokémon is gonna hurt SMTV, if I were them I'd delay it too, or bring it forwards, just get it clear of the blast zone.

No updates on Saturday ?

Interesting that Suparobo 30 is almost the same points on switch and ps4.

"Super Robot Wars 30", "Fatal Frame" and "Blue Reflection" all have similar points in both consoles.

Pokemon getting good points? Seems like a bad strategy to have 2 pokemon games up for preorder.

The remakes are going to be the best selling time of the year beating out Monster Hunter Rise, Pokemon games in recent times have made most of their sales on launch week as an example the total pre-orders for Sword / Shield were 766 while the actual result ended up being 1444. With a month left to go Brilliant Diamond is already #2 in Amazon.co.jp, as we get closer to release pre-orders will accelerate but I tend to expect most orders on COMG to come launch week.

I don't think it's much of a problem that Arceus is launching early next year as the two games will offer very different experiences. Arceus is the one I'm more cautious about, right now I'm hoping it's received well enough to outperform Pokemon Let's Go's lifetime sales, it's a vastly different experience and I do wonder if Pokemon fans will like it. The remakes on the other hand, are going to be the major holiday title during a time where Switch will sell a ton of hardware, could very well surpass 3 million by the end of just this year.

Demon Slayer flopped really hard
