I haven't played the original. I'm not a huge fan of JRPGs, though I do play them once in a while.

Should I play this game?

No. Play FF14.

... well, As long as you can smoke crack responsibly and your house and life won't fall down around you because of an introduced addiction. Gotta have that disclaimer when recommending FF14, It has the power to destroy byt used responsibly it can provide many hundred of hours of the best gaming you'll ever play.

I always wanted to try. A few years ago I played for a few hours on PS4 and for me, it was kind of hard to play with a controller, it seemed the UI was poorly designed to consoles. Also the font size was soooooo small. Anyway, well, I loved the music (amazing!) and the medieval/steampunk setting, it seemed very final fantasy 6 for me, my favorite. It was really beautiful. And then I read they made an expansion based on Ivalice, wow, I gotta have that.

One problem: I dont like MMO's, have no interest in playing them, the grind, dealing with other people in chat/party, having to find companions when there is no matchmaking, having to play with experienced people how hates you because you dont know how to play etc. I only play Destiny, which is not an mmo to tell you the truth and it is already too much for me, despite having 1000 hours in it.

How it is to play alone? I just want to experience the setting, story, music. No interest in doing a dungeon or raid more than once or twice tops. No interest in endgame and having special loot which will allow me to tackle the same raid on a higher level which will give more more loot, etc. No interest in sidequests which adds nothing to the story and gives me only loot.

So, is it possible? You have any idea how long it would take to play all story to get where the game is now?

I just finished the Wall Market section and I must say I'm really happy with how they handled it. It's not a carbon copy of the original but they did recreate the area splendidly. The addition of the Trio and the Colosseum are the kind of alterations they are more than welcome, they flesh out one of my favorite parts of the game. The battle system is clicking more and more and it's really a blast to play. (Still hate the stupid destiny ghosts but I haven't seen them in a while!)

Wall market is the best example of them stretching out the game the right way.

They completed redid Walmarket. What is being streched? I dont think that you guys know what that means.

On a different note, what is up with the myself drink before first arena fight?

They stretched a 20 minute or so segment of the original game into about two hours.  The core plot is the same.  You need to get into Corneo's mansion, and you need a pretty dress.  They just added a lot more bumps in the road to get there.

You have got understand the difference between "expanding" and "stretching". A perfect example  of stretching is the last act of the Legend of Zelda Winder Waker; the infamous tri force map. Story progressions just stops until that segment is over. Another example is the inverted Castle in Symphony of the Night because the same thing happens there. Nothing is being stretched in 7 Remake. It longer, yes, but its filled content.

Segments taking longer than they did in the original does NOT equate to being streched. Stop throwing that term around. If anything is streched its the god damn boss fights in this remake. Go on waaaay to long. They could have several 1000 HP and still do everything they set out to do.

Stretch =/= Expand

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/expand

Expand- to express in greater detail.

stretch is to lengthen by pulling while expand is to change something from a smaller form and/or size to a larger one. I hope this helps remedy your confusion.

They are not mutually exclusive.  They are in fact synonyms as you can see in this thesaurus.  I could have used the word expand.  Expand might have been a better word choice.  Regardless, I used stretch, to make longer, which is also an entirely appropriate word to use.

Unless they didn't actually make the segment longer (it sure felt a lot longer) then my word choice was fine.  If there was any confusion about how I was using the word, I already rectified that by posting the definition that I was using.

Don't sweat it, your word was perfectly fine. They are just being nitpicky and middly aggressive because you said something "bad" about a game they love.
