Listen I love Three Houses, but they need to use Unreal Engine! DQ11 makes Three Houses look it came from a completely different generation while running on the same system.

Cost effective wise, it was a better choice at the end for Koei to simply use the same engine from FE Warriors.

My thoughts exactly. I would think using a developer's own engine would be more cost effective (and less time consuming) than having to adapt to a third party one. I think it works well with the art design they were going for.

Anyway, I am interested in any game pre-Awakening to be remade/remastered. I think Awakening is fine as is for now. Maybe it'll get a remake later on, considering how successful it was, but I think we can wait. Unlike Xenoblade Chronicles, which was barred by a GameStop-only release in NA, Awakening was able to get the full potential of its sales and here we are with the franchise being a go-to Nintendo franchise.

I think Genealogy of the Holy War would be a great candidate. A well-regarded title of the franchise. However, they may have to alter some aspects of the story and characters, considering a few of the themes than may or may not keep it in the T rating in the ESRB or C/B rating in CERO.

Spoiler!

Incest being one of them w/ Deirdre marrying her maternal half-brother Arvis, resulting in conceiving twins, Julius and Julia. Though I guess Fates went into that topic...sorta.

Blazing Blade and Binding Blade could be great as a pack since they were under the same engine and connect well (outside of Lyn being absent in Binding Blade).

Around the Network

I would prefer just getting localisations of the rest of the JP exclusive titles.

Ports at most of PoR and RD, the former is still as good as a Fire Emblem game can get, so I wouldn't ask for any fundamental change. Radiant Dawn has flaws but nothing worth a remake.

Same with the GBA titles, since I figure they won't work with the excellent sprite work and just make it 3D.

As far as remakes go, make the first game good would be one. Awakening is painfully average for a FE game so I'm basically asking for a new game if that was remade. Fates would be one of my main choices, just because it has a lot of interesting ideas that weren't executed very well story wise and the Birthright side being complete shit.

Genealogy of the Holy War is obviously next in line, with maybe the GBA games next in line.

Why do people think they'll remake a game from 2013 in Awakening ?

I know. I'm surprised at the amount of people saying Awakening. I was going to put it in the poll originally but refrained because I thought nobody would want a remake haha.

To be clear I was being sarcastic, but I do think it's funny so many people want an Awakening remake. Those games are not really the type that would benefit from a remake I think, they actually look better on the 3DS's screen than Three Houses looks on the Switch's screen + docked mode.

I do wonder if me saying that influenced other people saying it since it wasn't even implied in the OP at all lmao

I finished playing through Three Houses last night for the first time and it made me think about how great a remake of a previous title would be in the Three Houses engine, akin to what they did with Shadows of Valentia.

Personally I would like to see Path of Radiance remade. The game is so expensive on the Gamecube so it's hard for people to experience the game and I just think it would be awesome to see it on Switch.

How about you guys?

Played through Path of Radiance recently, so that wouldn't be my first choice, but I love the game. I would say Genealogy of the Holy War since it created so many of the standards of the genre and hasn't gotten an official English release. Playing the fan patch on original SNES hardware is amazing, though.
