Forums - Gaming - Dead in the Water: Sakura Wars and Trails of Mana; will either survive?

I won't buy either and they probably won't sell much in the west, but I wouldn't say they are affected by the 3 games you listed. They are the type of game that people who buy is the ones that really like those type of games so they would buy even with the others launching. Also the companies know what else is launching so if they thought it would jeopardize their sales they wouldn't release.

I'm getting both of them. I'm actually a fan of the Sakura Wars series. The last PS2 game I bought new was the Sakura Wars game that was localized by NISA (it came out ten years ago against Final Fantasy XIII, no less). I'd like to see the Trials of Mana remake as I enjoyed the original in the Collection of Mana.

I'll most likely get Sakura Wars but probably the next two months will be spent on P5R and nothing more

I’m a hard pass on both. I got persona and then the next game after that will be xenoblade.

Trials of Mana is the next switch game I intend on buying

Lets clear some things up:

There is nothing wrong with being a low budget game, but how being low budget while also being a niche title releasing during a time where, lets be blunt, much better options are available, will effect initial sales. This is the biggest problem that Sakura Wars will face and btw @RolStoppable, I did not mention the lack of an english dub for Sakura Wars because It does not matter; weebos will be the main buyers. The game is suppose to be reboot that is designed to grow its global appeal, but SEGA and lack of any real marketing says no, so it will be bought by weebos and they would choose to play with Japanese voice acting anyways.

The only reason I bring up low budget specifically with Trails of Mana (both are low budget) is because most of negatives post demo are things directly to tied to it being a low budget title possibly tacking it out of the must buy range and putting it in to a wait till its cheaper range for some.

I sadly dont really have any money to buy either but if I did have money I would easily buy Sakura Wars. I've been waiting for a new one for years after the last one on PS2 came out.
