Any way, I think the sales of MGS4 in Japan will give a good idea on how well FF 13 will launch there. |
Since when is MGS a mega game in in Japan? MGS 1-3 all sold between 750 and 900k there. About the same as Yazuka 1 and 2... and look how 3 has sold.... FFXIII is the only thing that can save the PS3 in Japan. Maybe GT5, but I have heard racing is not as big in Japan as it used to be.... |
I wasn't talking about saving the PS3 if you will read. MGS has a very dedicated fanbase in Japan, from my experience of talking to people in Japan. It's a small, but dedicated fanbase. There could be a situation where FF 13 is the one game that does well on the PS3, just because of the following of the series in Japan. Even on the Gamecube, the Mario games did well on the small, but hardcore fanbase.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
