PS4 slim is pretty silent though.

I assume you mean BC for PS4 games? |
If they make PS5 backwards compatible with every Playstation home console (that means, putting a PS1/2/3/4 disc on it and playing it), the console will be a must buy for me. No more having to plug and unplug old consoles when I want to play an old game. I wouldn't even care about PS5 actual games. I would have 4 consoles in one xD
Well if components hadnt been locked down ~9 months before release then I'd be worried :P
Many people on the french board I go will be pleased by this news.
I don't think the ventilation system/dust built up is why some PS4s overheat and kick into high fan speed modes - I think it's the thermal paste that either isn't of good quality (it was atrocious in my fat PS3) or is sometimes misapplied in assembly
Huh, guess I take my quiet Xbox X for granted. I had no idea the other side had this problem

My PS4 Pro is quiet but it's not an old model. I have seen some players on a board saying their old PS4 Pro are not quiet.

comicbook got their info directly from bloomberg. you have 1 source, not 2. and there is no WILL NOT here. We have no idea how verifiable Bloomberg info is here. They may be right, they may be wrong. |
Yeah, I still use both because comicbook summarize it in a nice two paragraph while bloomberg has more beefy details. Everything considered I'm just glad that if the source is right then that means the inners of PS5 has high quality parts inside.
And here I come expecting they actually removed the light bar on the controller.
edit: Wait, so the only "lead" they have on it is that the cooling is slightly more expensive? Could it maybe be that the components are much more powerful and emit a lot more heat? How the fuck are they drawing conclusion on the noise here? I hope whoever cobbled that shitty article together quits being a journalist out of embarrassment.

PS VR will still be working so I guess the light bar will stay
