Out of all those examples you just want to focus on THAT? smh..

Yes, because it's the most obviously ridiculous.  You decided it was worth mentioning, so it's worth responding to.  Can you defend the point, or are you just going to continue to throw fits?

You're the only one throwing ridiculous fit, but I'll indulge in this.. The name of the mini game is 3D Battler, Virtual Boxing Game...

FF VII spin offs are really bad or mediocre. But the main game is fantastic even with all this flaws.
But if we are comparing OOT vs FF7 games. Zelda is the better one. FFVII was fantastic ,but Zelda was perfect. I say this as someone who has enjoyed and played more ff7 than zelda ocarine of time.
Many people consider the history of ff7 the best of their time, but there are several rpgs with better built stories than FF7. The main attraction this game had was to include shonen elements in its character structure. Games like Persona, Xenogears and Suikoden have more interesting and better constructed stories.
The whole Tifa knows the truth from the start is pretty stupid and spin offs are just typical anime cliches.

Sorry for my bad english.

They can call the game whatever they want.  I can refer to my penis as a footlong, but that doesn't make it so.

Some traits we typically consider with fighting games...

Multiple playable characters, the ability to actually move your character, real time controls, not turn based.  If this is considered a fighting game, why isn't every turn based RPG also a fighting game?

Even if this is a fighting game, was it in any way good?  If not, why would you list it in an effort to show that FF7 is an especially good game?

They actually used the same "other character already knows" thing with Irvine in FF8.

Punch Out!!! Wants to have a word with you.

edit:

"why would you list it in an effort to show that FF7 is an especially good game?"

idc if people like this mini game or not, the only reason I mentioned it is because ff7 has it. Is that such a radical idea that you somehow see fit to attack it or something? This back and forth nonsense with you needs to stop. I just don't get this toxicity.

Punch Out!!! Whats to have a word with you.

Punch Out has all of those things I mentioned except one.  And a lot of people would not consider that to be a fighting game.  Punch Out has at least some of the traits of most fighting games.  This minigame has none.

Also, Punch Out is actually fun.  You skipped that part of the post.

Edit:  You said "The story and music is the only good thing about FFVII?

And then brought up this game as a response to your own question.  Anyone with basic reading comprehension would assume you meant that this was a "good thing about FFVII"?  But apparently... you just were listing random things FFVII had?  Like, what?

And nothing about this post or the last is toxic at all.  I'm posting reasons I disagree with you, in I think a pretty neutral and respectful tone.  If you think there's something wrong with the post, go hit the report button.

You really should not talk about reading comprehension because I was addressing someone's statement, not answering my own question.

First of.. Regardless of what people think of Punch Out, it is a fighting game, just like another classic, Karate Champ. Both fighting games with different controls, and different rules..

Look I get it, OoT is your favorite game, you think it's the best game, that's fine with me. I'm not dissing it or anything, not once. But to come at me with such a combative way is uncalled for. Can you stop with your ridiculous back and forth nonsense now?

And it is still losing the poll...the Spin offs and the films are irrelevant to the greatness of the actual game. I agree the story and music are better than OoTs but that's about the only things that have a good argument. To be fair, FFVII is the one RPG that really kick started the Fan Faction boom of the late 90s, not game before it or since has drawn as many players to its story and characters, but as game Ocarina was the superior piece of software. There is no shame in that,  it still holds the Metacritic record (OoT), no other game has beaten it either.

This poll is one sided because the forum is comprised of mostly Nintendo fans. I know, I been here for a very long time, and nothing is wrong with their opinion. But to say the spin offs and films is irrelevant is a poor excuse because again, you can't compete with story that expands beyond the game.

EDIT:

The story and music is the only good thing about FFVII?

Man... FFVII even have RTS.

Snowboarding.

A fighting game

Submarine mini game

motorbike mini game

And even an FPS game..

edit again: if we have a more comprehensive way to rank each element of both these games in terms of story, music, and fun factor, I think it'll be more interesting.

Uhhhhh... dude.  The post is right there.  You posed the question.  The you immediately went into examples. I mean. It's right there, look at it.

I'm not taking a stance about Punch Out being a fighting game.  But as I pointed out, that game lets you move and attack in real time.  Which are pretty important traits of fighting game.

So,  Like actually answer the question.  What makes this a fighting game?   And why is it relevant to "good things about FFVII" whether you posed the question or were responding to a statement.

Is it though?

It's been a while since we polled this but last time I seem to remember it coming it with a slight numerical advantage to Nintendo over Sony but not a majority.

Even if it was though, perhaps there are more Nintendo fans because they like Nintendo games... Like Ocarina of Time.
