First thing I got online, it told me I used (well, my household) around 51GB of both upload and download combine this month so far. And I have a quota of 60.

to closer inspection, they will be charging me $3/gb for every gb I go over. Going by my last 3 months record, They will charge me over $200/month.

This is on top of

*Never been able to play online. I have CoD4 and Guitar hero and never played online once because of bad connection.

*Never had any DLC whatsoever because it will take FOREVER

*have 3kb/s on ITune downloads

*Unable to go VGChartz for extend period of time because my internet is tooo slow.

 

At this point, I called Rogers and told them they lost me as a customer forever. I'm switching May 1st.

And I also laugh at whoever said DL HD movies will kill Blu-Ray!

WHAT? Thats ridiculous! Do all internet services work this way? Am I only allowed a certain # of downloads? (Or is this just Rodgers)

Well, I think coegeco has 100gb limit? (reading from their website).


I'm going with Primus, $35, DSL with 7mb down and unlimited. Honestly anything is better than 3kb I get at night.

 Rogers is the biggest internet provider (and TV) company in Canada, and near the top for both Cell and home phone too. Evil company indeed.

yes, but i never get close to 100gb, 100gb is plenty. and its the fastest internet i've ever had, and i've had bell/rogers/cogeco

I believe that Shaw and Rogers have a deal, in which they divided Canada (can't remember where) and Shaw serves us in the west for internet, cable TV and home phone, and Rogers gets the east.  Shaw also has a limit though, but they can't track mine for some reason (I'm on a laptop, with a dynamic IP address, maybe that's why).

I'm on Hughesnet, satellite internet.

 

I have a 300mb a day Fair Access Policy. Over that, and I'm shutdown for 24 hours. My latency is abour 800 to 1600 mls depending on the time of day. For the first year I paid 114 dollars a month, but now I only pay 90.

 

Heh. cry me a river.

 

If anything bigger than 300mbs came out over DLC I would be outta luck.

 

Only exception is between 2 and 5 am, when the FAP isnt' in affect.

It varies by provider and package here (UK). When I was with Toucan I got their supposedly unlimited package and every week they would email to say we'd exceeded capacity and it was being cut the next week. Now we're on BT's top package and it's awesome We can literally download, upload and stream stuff all day and night without any hassle from them at all.
