Just send GWG to the glue factory already Xbox. Seeing the quality of the lineup not improve at all with the reduction from 4 to 2 games per month is so disheartening. Meanwhile Sony is putting 3 games per month onto PS+ base tier usually, and most months at least one of the 3 is a AAA game. And the excuse that they are putting the GWG money into Gamepass doesn't fly either, because every month since June when the new PS+ released, Sony's PS+ mid tier additions have been as good as or better than the Gamepass additions in terms of 3rd party games (Sony adds alot more AAA's than Xbox while Xbox is mainly indie and AA).

It baffles my mind how Xbox seems to have decided that they don't want to compete with either PS+ base tier (GWG equivalent) or PS+ mid tier (Gamepass equivalent) when it comes to 3rd party games. Sure they have a 1st party advantage since Sony won't put 1st party onto PS+ mid tier day one, but that advantage doesn't help them in 2022 since they have no big 2022 exclusives to put into Gamepass. It's like they decided to just let Sony close most of the subscribers gap between Gamepass and PS+ mid tier/PS Now during 2022 instead of trying to maintain their huge lead.

I still purchase the Gold to have the ability to game online with friends and family.  I'm not interested in Game Pass (all the games that I'm interested in I purchase physical copies when available).  If they dump Gold, where would that leave the people in my category? Will online multi-player games go free? Or would I have to pay even more for something I don't need or want?

Yeah, that would obviously be bad, the way to get Game Pass subscribers isn't to force people into it, they obviously need to dump Gold one day but to do so they need to make online completely free but that's a tough sell to a business, especially when no other competitors are doing it and to dump Gold means dumping a very large source of revenue and again, they're a business.

They'll only be able to dump Gold if Game Pass essentially replaces its revenue stream plus more and that will be a while to achieve (if ever, the vast majority are subbed to Gold for online play), so they're stuck in an awkward situation. Still, the current GwG situation sucks, the past few months have been pretty awful, but I feel like Microsoft just doesn't deem GwG worth it when you have Game Pass now.

I 100% agree on Xbox needing to be more unified in their marketing approach! Other than signing the paychecks, there's not much reason to associate Bethesda with Xbox (especially considering no exclusives have come from the deal yet) or even other studios like Compulsion Games, Double Fine, or even Ninja Theory. Only unless you're a diehard fan that keeps up with everything Xbox.

More gamers will know of inXile because of their great memes and Obsidian because they're both vocal and are releasing games. But there's not much association with these studios and the Xbox brand. Xbox is working so hard on getting more first-party games, buying ActiBlizz, and expanding the Game Pass service, both in games are cloud tech, that they're not really focusing on all the studios they have to really make them all seem like one big happy family.

Xbox probably should've spent at least several years establishing that synergy with all the studios they have now before going after such a big fish like ActiBlizz lol

You're not interested in Game Pass? Don't you know you have to post that in every gamepass thread to let people know? lol Joking aside, ideally they would drop the MP behind Gold (gold altogether) so Xbox users match PC gamers as xbox users are paying for the same service they get for free. And although I love GP to death, they really need to chill with the ads on the dashboard for it, especially for the upcoming 2023 dash... where they tried to make it a gamepass netflix layout, a big no for me.

The more the big multiplayer titles go F2P though which is clearly the direction that most are heading, the quicker Gold can die

Just need CoD to go F2P and Gold will be halved, Lol.
