Grounded is currently the 2nd best selling game on Steam behind only Heart of Iron IV (which is currently 75% off and having a FTP week) and the 5th best selling game by Revenue on Steam behind Hearts of Iron IV, CS:GO, Lost Ark, and Apex Legends. Impressive stuff for a game that again, went up in price by $10 for its 1.0 launch.

So Sean W just put out a video that is definitely going to start catching peoples attention.

He's now claiming to have seen hard evidence that the Halo Battle Royale is seeing heavy delays as it's supposed to be transitioning to a new engine. Presumably Unreal Engine. So it's either going to be a standalone experience, or tied to an entirely new Halo game. That the BR is now expected for a 2025 release.

Also, 343 is correcting Brad Sams claims that Bonnie Ross was fired and reached out to Sean W to say that she truly did leave due to a family matter. She had planned to leave the company later on, but a family matter sped up the process. So the timing was just coincidence. But also, the shakeup of Pierre taking over as Head of 343 not being as major of a shakeup that we're thinking. In terms of saving Infinite's live service. Idk how I missed this, but there were news articles at the end of 2020, around August, that Pierre did join the Halo Infinite team as the project lead on their FTP experience. So he's been heading Infinite's live service for 2 years now.

But also that Bonnie Ross will return to take over Activision Blizzard once the deal finalizes. Replacing Kotick.

Also that The Endless campaign Joe Staten is working on, will not be in the Slipspace engine, but will be in Unreal alongside the BR. Based on trademarks, it's now being speculated that The Endless will be a new game entirely, and that's why Infinite's live service content entirely is just crap and they're so slow. Most likely Joe Staten, Pierre, etc. are focused on development of this new game.

@Ryuu96 thoughts?

Welp, it's already catching traction lol. I wonder if this gets too out of hand, 343 will have to make a comment on it.

So then according that info, Infinite is basically dead.

I figured that the insane amount of technical debt and issues with the engine were the main reasons as to why we're getting content at such a snails pace, but it also could be that Infinite is being supported by a borderline skeleton crew while the main team focuses on this supposed new game.

Which also could be the reason why the storefront almost never gets anything good and splitscreen co-op was cancelled despite it technically working

Grain of salt, the only info he has leaked that has been solid was that season 2 was 6 months long, and that was when me and other leakers were already saying it was going to be 6 months. Hes also referring to the DMR for season 3.

Reddit

The Influencer with the only uncorroborated source is "My uncle works at 343" and maintains vague enough information so it could go either way for him when the actual leaks drop is implied to be bs? Surely not.

It is completely fake. Sean W has never had any accurate leaks. I remember when his channel was still relatively new, he claimed that these leaked screenshots were real: https://imgur.com/a/eHjP3Lw

You think people would learn to stop doing this shit after the last few unfounded rumours came to nothing

What’s funny is none of them big YouTubers haven’t called him out.

Sean W's not a great source of leaked info. I'd also prefer if we stuck to more provable leaks like the Armament Blaster recently being found in game files.

Sean W has time and again not leaked shit.

He speculates, and casts a wide net on his "Hot insider goss" so he can be even part right when his obvious broad statement comes true. Speculation is healthy, passing speculation as fact isn't.

Sean W doesn't have an inside line on 343 or their plans. Never has, and since he's an influencer he probably never will. Actual leaks will come from actual industry insiders, or actual dataminers like the folks over at r/haloleaks.

Like I said, I've never followed him so I can't say for sure but looking at the Reddit replies to his videos, safe to say that they at least consider him to be really unreliable on leaks.

I haven't followed him either, but he has gotten to the point to where what he says does have some weight to it. Not much, but a decent amount.

I've just kept thinking to myself that there's no way 343 can be THIS incompetent. I mean, a match xp beta?! 343 has been cascading around like this is the first game they've ever made. Halo 5 was a better live service that wasn't a live service lol.

There's a good game under Infinite, no doubt. But it does seem like 343 is so reliant on Forge than previous Forge releases that it makes you want to put on your tinfoil hat lol. If things don't substantially get better by Season 3, I think we'll know how true these "leaks" are.

Hope this is true! Hurry up and finish this Activision shit, need a new pubby to salivate over

More than anything, want it to be a Japanese company so I don't have to keep seeing how they can't do it since it's a Japanese company.

I've been playing around with mods in CP2077, including the one that allows you to fly cars around Night City, and I'm reminded of how much of a damn shame it is that CD Projekt is abandoning REDengine for Unreal, with the Phantom Liberty expansion being their final piece of content made using the engine. It's a very mod friendly engine, and because of it, 2 out of the top 10 most downloaded modded games on Nexus Mods are The Witcher 3 and CP2077. 6 out of the top 10 are of course Bethesda games lol, but Unreal is just not that mod friendly. Idk the last time I ever saw an Unreal game get modded in any meaningful way.

Makes me hope Bethesda NEVER abandons Creation Engine lol.
