This game is supposed to be very Disco Elysium-like. It's not going to be anything like Starfield lol.

The big projects have kind of burnt him out, so he's been wanting to lead smaller projects.

I thought it was gonna be AAA, is Disco Elsium AA? or Disco Elsium higher budget Indie game?

Disco Elysium is a higher budget indie game, but my god the story telling and freedom of choices is top notch! And that's what I'm expecting from Josh's game

Obsidian has a lot of projects in the works. You got Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, Grounded's 1.0 release, and Josh Sawyer's smaller RPG.

Josh Sawyer is a treasure in the gaming industry though :)

What awful news to wake up to:

I legit don't know what MS is thinking here. This leaves them with no announced AAA exclusives for 2022, a year that already had no AAA exclusives released in the first 5 months of the year. Maybe Forza Motorsport, Gears Collection, or Wolfenstein 3 is actually 2022, but those are far from certain at this point considering not a single leaker has mentioned any of them for 2022. Unless one of those 3 is this Holiday, or unless they have some AAA 3rd party hat deal. they are going into a key Holiday season where they need to show they can keep pace with PS5, without any big exclusives at all. It's not even possible for them to have the 2 biggest AAA 3rd party releases of the Holiday as day one gamepass, CoD and Hogwarts, as Sony already locked down marketing on both. Xbox is so royally f*cked this year.

With Jez saying how almost every studio had something to show for the Xbox/Bethesda showcase, I'm hoping that some of the game's schedules just got moved up to 2022, and that would be why Phil agreed to delay Starfield and Redfall.

Terrible news for Xbox. This year's lineup sucks. Hopefully, they can surprise us with Hellblade 2 for this holiday.

That was Rand

But I doubt that, everything is being delayed lately, I don't see anything being moved forward, everyone wants more time, not less.

Prepare for the worse, 2022 is going to be rough.

And prepare for Starfield to be delayed to Holiday 2023

Sorry, Rand

Well, I was trying to hold out hope....

The footage we've seen of Hogwarts legacy was quite solid though.

I'm optimistic that it won't be delayed.

Xbox for the rest of this year has Forza Motorsport (Probably?), Deathloop, and Stalker 2 (Maybe? Depending on how the devs are doing with the ongoing war in Ukraine). Here is to hoping we get a surprise release of one of the other announced games. Hellblade 2?

There's also Josh Sawyer's rumored Disco Elysium-like RPG that could be releasing this year as well.

I am figuring there may be one other surprise announcement that'll be released this year.

Good lord I made the awful mistake of opening Twitter

If Bethesda were still independent, of course many would still be disappointed by the announcement but much more understanding than now. Because Bethesda is now directly connected to Xbox, the absolute hate and trolling I read on Tweets

It would've eased the pain if the Starfield delay announcement was accompanied with a gameplay trailer. No deep dive or anything like that, but like 30 seconds or a minute of actual gameplay to give us a taste and show many that something really special is on the horizon as well as get us really excited to see more at the showcase in exactly a month.
