My whole Tuesday (today) has been thrown out of whack. Pacing was off, flow of customers was weird, and just all-in-all felt out of my element. Then I figured out what caused it. @Ryuu96 didn't link the Deals with Gold today. Already filed a complaint.

He's genuinely the worst.

Even when he links them, he makes sure to link them in the most annoying possible way. Gotta click on the stupid twitter link, only to then click on the link that shows you the actual deals. Dude's got time to post a dozen different threads and plaster discord with twitter links all day long, but he won't put in the extra effort to make Xbox Empire great again. Fucking poser.

Interesting.....this really makes me look forward to what new games that are Series X/S only will look like!

I doubt Sony was stupid enough to sign a contract and not base it off of titles released. Imagine signing it and being like "I want an x years deal because yearly games never get delayed out of their respected years"....

We would only think that way after the fact but contracts have to be very explicitly and sometimes there are holes in them that can be taken advantage of.  No one really knows what is in the contract between Sony and Acti/Bliz but just like Ninja Gaiden, if a team is looking at the fine print, they probably can find something that allows them to circumvent parts of a contract.

Wow, 97 meta game for Elden Ring. Damn wish it had an easy mode :/

A lot of people are saying it's a lot more accessible than past FromSoft games. The nature of the open world (allowing you to not only overlevel, but try your hand at different bosses rather than running into a wall on the same one over and over), spells being far more powerful than they ever have been, summons, etc.

I kind of get tired of seeing critics overrate these Souls-likes. We've all seen the clips of critics playing games, IGN First Gameplay, Dean Takahashi failing to get past the Cuphead tutorial, clips of critics sucking in their video reviews of games, etc. When like 70% of critics seem to be below average gamers, you know darn well they aren't playing these FromSoft Souls/Souls-likes to completion, and yet they give them these amazing reviews:

  • 89 on Demon Souls
  • 89 on Dark Souls
  • 91 on Dark Souls 2
  • 89 on Dark Souls 3
  • 92 on Bloodborne
  • 90 on Sekiro
  • 92 on Demon's Souls Remake

And now a 97 on Elden Ring, making it one of the highest rated games of all time. It really kind of annoys me that a game that most critics can't beat and that probably more than half of all gamers can't beat is going to win GOTY this year most likely, beating out the other games that are likely to get 90+ metas this year and are actually accessible, BOTW 2, Bayonetta 3, Starfield, and God of War Ragnarok.

I wish I could enjoy these games, Elden Ring actually interests me unlike FromSoft's earlier games, but I know that it's not for me, not after I spent like 6 incredibly frustrating hours trying to get past 2 brick walls in Sekiro that were keeping me from progressing in either of the game's 2 timelines. Life is too short for me to waste time even starting a game that I know I won't be able to beat without wasting countless hours on grind and boss fight replays.

Whether they are personally good at them or not, these are great games, that totally deserve high marks. And I'm sure they don't exactly put their worst gamers on these titles for review. There's no reason to be salty about it, just because they're not your personal cup of tea.

Sekiro is significantly harder than any Souls tbf, I really didn't like the game and quite pretty quickly but then again, it wasn't a Souls and personally if it's not Souls then I don't buy FS games. Also just a personal note on Demon Souls, the last game to release (DS Remake) is by and far the easiest Souls of them all. Take it from someone who has thoroughly played this series since importing the Asian version of Demon Souls way back in 2009 it's quite frankly the most accessible Souls title released and dare I say pretty damn easy (I'm really note joking about Pyromancy being ungodly strong) also that 2009 AI logic not touched at all :L

I would not say that Sekiro is harder than any other Souls games, I would say instead that the mechanics is totally different.  One of the biggest problems with people who play Sekiro coming from a Souls background is that they try to play it the same way and get owned.  Once you understand the mechanics for Sekiro you find that its actually not difficult at all.
