So apparently Jez said that he has heard that Apple is poaching Engineers from Xbox, and that Apple plans to use them to design their own gaming console. However, there are several caveats to his rumor:

1. He says that the rumors have been flying around for awhile and that a few of his sources are questionable, but says that he has heard enough rumors about the Apple console from independent sources that he does believe it is, or at least was in development at some point.

2. He doesn't seem sure if the console is designed to be high end (Xbox/PS competitor) or lower end (more of a Switch competitor focused on Apple Arcade)

3. He has heard that it might be VR focused, but isn't sure

4. The console is designed around the concept of a metaverse, something that Phil himself has also discussed alot

5. He says the console may never come to fruition, as Apple R&D's many concepts that never see the light of day

Apple?

Get ready for the first $2,000 console with a new version every year.

One thing that i would like to happen when Activision deal is closed would be Pokemon challenger game with Skylanders IP. Make it look as good as Rift Apart, add pvp and pve elements to core Pokemon catch them all idea and make it deep RPG game with lots of stuff to discover and upgrade. In that way i think it would appeal to kids as well as adult gamers. There is so much u can improve if u think Pokemon games... they are always pretty lazy in terms of content and ideas. There is no real challenge in those games and online modes are very very narrow. It could even be mmo game with Skylanders characters :O that would be so awesome and it can easily be next Sea of Thieves for MS. What u guys think about this idea?

Just a heads up that MS quarterly report is supposed to come out later today. Not sure what time, I've just seen "close of market day" and that there's an earnings web conference starting at 2:30pm Pacific time.

With Microsoft Gaming being separated I wonder if we will get more details in the Xbox report. Not that I would expect to get actual numbers in regard to hardware data.

That one journalist said we would but then I remembered Linkedin and how they're separate from Microsoft but still grouped into "Productivity and Business" so I'm now thinking they'll be zero change to the financial reports, Lol.

I think this is definitely different than LinkedIn though. I am optimistic Microsoft Gaming as a standalone division will start be more forthcoming with numbers now that they are unequivocally a important part of Microsoft’s overall business plan. You can’t drop $70 billion and continue to hide Xbox from shareholders like you did in the past.

That is my thought as well. Especially considering Microsoft Gaming has its own CEO now as is if it's its own corporate entity.
