you shits are overhyping things once again, hold your horsez

That's 2021 in review. If you hate Xbots this thread is a lot of fun because 2021 was nothing else than Guy "J,K and X want some attention and new followers so they say something => OMG, New studio announcemnt!! New game announcement!!!  Can't wait!     End result => A fart in a bottle...

We clearly need a Rumor thread and a thread with 'Real' Facts and News or let fake news/Rumours stay on social media where they were ment to dwell.

Yeah, this thread really is thirsty for any MS news.  Even the vague tweets get people all excited until MS has to jump in and say hold up, its not what you think.  Basically MS should just not tweet anything.

I don't hate the Xbots or the other guys, but you're right this thread is a lot of fun.  The funnest thread of all of them.

No other company has to clarify or temper expectations as much as Microsoft does, like I said, I do think Xbox fans have a habit of overhyping a lot but Xbox doesn't help themselves either, there's blame on both sides here, Greenberg has at least got better at this as he sets expectations immediately lately. They definitely shouldn't have bothered with this tweet, at this point you have got to know how fans would react to a tweet like that, Lol.

Then we have so much attachment on what insiders say and about how promising the future is for obvious reasons, I do think when Microsoft is finally firing on all cylinders that this will die down but we aren't quite there yet, I think for that to change Xbox will need to have a consistent stream of quality exclusives along with not relying so heavily on E3 for all their major announcements, Summer-Holiday 21 has been great and will end strong too if Halo delivers but it seems we'll be back to a quiet period for early 22 which will drive speculation again, I don't think this talk will change until 2023.

Come on Ryuu, when was the last time you can remember that MS has ever tweeted something that resulted in big news unless they actually stated it was big news.  You really have to look at the pattern of the company to understand how they present their subject matter.  Anytime I see some vague tweet from MS, I always believe its nothing really important.  The blame really just goes to Xbox fans, because by now people should realize how MS view their information.  Its not like this is any MS fan first rodeo, this has been a pattern for years.  You want MS to change but in reality, xbox fans should have realized a long time ago how MS present news.

Its clear, MS has no clue or do not care what insiders say, the rumors are always flying and most times its like someone is throwing darts at a wall and see which specific fan message they should say and hope they are correct.

@Bold is exactly why Xbox should know better too, Lol.

There's zero reason to tease BC news Imho, it's not worth teasing. Especially from the Xbox Games Publishing account. Why are they the ones teasing this news? It makes no sense, not to mention it was signal boosted by the main Twitter account.

I reiterate that XGP never had anything to do with Fable so I don't blame folk for wondering why they are the ones leading the marketing, they have nothing to do with BC related stuff either so it's a weird miscommunication.

That is the problem.  You assume that MS, this huge corporation thinks like your average consumer fan.  After all this time, with so many tweets, like I stated, when has the last time MS made any major announcement via a tweet.  I cannot remember not one so that would mean, MS does not make major announcements through tweets and instead they are all pretty minor.  Since this is the pattern of the company for years, why do anyone believe they are going to suddenly change because you believe they should.  Instead if anything, MS will continue to do the same thing because they do not see these announcements the same as you do.

You believe its teasing some big announcements but lets be honest, they never tease big announcements, they just announce big items.  Every time I see you guys jumping to all kinds of wild conclusions, I keep wondering have you not learned anything all these years.  MS do not tease big announcements, they just announce them.  If they are tweeting something, its always going to be minor to them.

Pretty neat site update for Xbox.com

@Machiavellian too much wise off talk considering you didn't say anything until the tease turned out to be nothing big.

I actually skipped all the talk about it because I thought it was going to be nothing to be honest.  When have I ever made any statements about MS tweets.  I always ignore them because from my experience, they have always been non important.  MS has always press released anything of importance to them and they have never from what I can remember teased it before hand.  I just keep wondering why this pattern of expecting something big from MS tweets repeats so much in this thread.

Yeah, I disagree with saying that the fault is on the fans. The responsibility is on the Xbox social media team to learn how the fanbase thinks, to learn how the fanbase reacts to teaser announcements (announcements of announcements), and adjust their teases accordingly so that the fans don't overhype things. The Xbox social media team often fails to do that.

Those tweets 100% looked like they were teasing something fairly big like a Fable Trilogy remaster for the 16th anniversary of Fable: The Lost Chapters (it released October 18th) or the 13th anniversary of Fable 2 (it released October 21st) or the 11th anniversary of Fable 3 (it released October 26th), even many skeptics were hyped after seeing those tweets. On top of that, it was the Xbox Global Publishing twitter teasing the Fable announce, and XGP never published any Fable game in the past, which lead people to believe they were teasing a Fable remaster from a 2nd party contractor studio rather than a 1st party studio.

I disagree with this because the fan base is way to fickle.  Instead of trying to hit a moving target its best to be consistent.  This way at some point in time, people will just get it.  Instead of trying to tailor you message ever time fans blows with the wind, you do the exact same thing each and every time so that they will know this is what to expect.  I rater MS be more consistent with their message and how they approach each of their methods then to try to figure out how fans going to react.  Not for a second did I even think those tweets were anything because usually MS do not tweet any big news before releasing the news.  Its always small dismissible crap.  Its like you guys fall in the same black hole each and every time.  Oh its a tweet from MS, then disappointment when you set your expectations for the moon.

Only thing you stated is that people again forgot how MS message their info and suddenly they are going to tease something big which they have not ever done so why would this be any different.  MS doesn't view their tweeter as a method to drum up expectation on their products.  This is why you never see them tweet or tease anything big before announcing it.  I doubt they are going to change because huge corps like MS rarely change so I would expect people to totally lower all expectations on any Tweet from MS.
