I really like my PSVR.
Best experiences so far:
RE7 - Scale is so important to horror. I could not believe how affected I was by just the first black enemy standing infront of me. Would have been rather unfazed if I played on TV.
No Mans Sky - Flying in the ship and being on the planet, trying to get by. The harshness of your surroundings is so accentuated by scale and immersion as well.

Will try soon:
-Astro Bot Rescue Mission (already have it, just could not make any time yet)
-Dreams - as soon as the VR-Mode drops I'll be all over it. Might be soon too - State of Play is in 2 days and early access for dreams just stopped yesterday. No coincidance to me. If I can be inside what I create, that is gonna be nuts.

No. I haven’t tried it.

I think my eyes aren’t going to appreciate having a screen right in front of it, and my face isn’t going to appreciate having a brick attached to it. Then, I think I’d feel too claustrophobic being so detached from your surroundings, even though I don’t suffer from claustrophobia in actual life. I don’t think I’d like not being able to see the rest of my house or interact with the people there.

It's not like you are imagining it. The optics place the screen far away from you, actually you aren't even aware of the screen. It puts you in another convincing full scale 3D world. You will feel claustrophobic when you crawl into a small space in VR, but not when you're standing in a big room or out in the open. The FOV is not as big as in RL yet much bigger than sitting close to a TV. It's a bit like putting your hands next to your face, not claustrophobic. I am pretty claustrophobic (hate flying) but have no trouble with VR, until I have to get into a small space lol. Actually I get worse claustrophobia from reading when someone gets stuck in a cave.

The helmet is not as heavy as a brick but it's hard to forget it's there. You can always use the tv speakers or other external sound to stay aware of what happens around you. You can still interact without looking at people! PSVR is not a perfect enclosure either, if you tilt your head up, you can look out underneath it. At least I can since the thing won't come all the way in due to my glasses.

If you enjoy Astrobot, also get Moss. It's just as magical.

And yes, walking through my own buildings and inside my freighter is awesome in NMS. I do get a bit claustrophic when I dig tunnels with the terrain manipulator lol.

I don’t understand how you guys can get so into vr. I liked the idea, but the technology just isn’t there. I bought the psvr when Skyrim vr came out, I thought that would be an incredible experience. I was blown away for like 5 minutes and then I got frustrated by all the downgrades that had to be made to do vr. It’s kind of my experience with all vr games, first 5 minutes are cool and then you start thinking about how much more fun and enjoyable everything would be if I could just look at one fixed point, like my tv. Psvr is just a paperweight. It is still hooked up to my PlayStation, but I don’t think I have used it at all the last year and a half or so...

Then I think you’re playing the wrong games. I just finally tried RE7 in VR bc of all the hype, and I actually really didn’t like it, bc of the downgrades and other reasons (tho I only played for like 30min). But, other games that were built for VR are awesome. Have you tried Astro Bot, Beat Saber, Thumper, Super Hot, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (co-op or party game), Tetris Effect (if you like Tetris, which I don’t but still enjoyed TE), or Moss?

Especially those first four games are markedly better and enhanced experiences bc of VR and unlike anything you’ll experience outside of VR. Actually just listed Thumper, Astro Bot, and Beat Saber in my top 25 games of all time list.

Exactly this. I’m claustrophobic and never once felt uncomfortable. And if I did, I could just take the headset off.

As far as the weight of the headset, at least with the PSVR, I can tend to get so immersed in a VR game that I can actually forget about the headset entirely. But either way, the headset is rarely bothersome. And I wear glasses, too.

It protects your head as well lol. I've bumped into the floor trying to look down a pit :) It's only in the way when I get an itch on my head. But yeah, after a while you forget it's even there and taking it off after a few hours of Skyrim VR is like transporting back to another world. I've forgotten a few times which room I was playing in, surprise.

Yep, first time some 4-5 years ago with Oculus DK2 at work, felt fairly nauseous with it (unfortunately, can't comment on later ORs, never tried any), then PSVR, it felt ok, though bit sluggish and loss of tracking when turning was problematic, then tried Vive, loved it.

Not owning any yet, still waiting for that elusive "wireless/4K per eye/200+ degree horizontal FOV/eye tracking-foveated rendering" set to fully commit, but I frequent local VR arcade for a VR fix.

My go to game for getting people into VR is Arizona Sunshine played as coop campaign.

Moss definitely is on my extended list. Looked super cute and robust at the same time.

Once in NMS on PSVR I could not, for the life of me, find out of a cave I stumbled into. It was already a bit uncomfortabel. Then I remebered having the terrain manipulator. I deeply inhaled fresh virtual air after getting out, that's how relieved I was.

It's a bit inconvenient for gaming but damn is it great for porn.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

PSVR full room scale. Creed. It's like Punch Out set on CyberPunk mode on Ultra settings. Pretty much like having a CrossFit setup at home.

[edits: add an area rug to your volume, so your feet can detect out-of-bounds, and add fans coming from the same direction as the camera to orient/center yourself.  Combined, these two minor modifications makes VR much more enjoyable and safer.]
