This is going to YouTube Red so hard.

I pay for Youtube RED and I think it is worth every penny just for the ability to lock your phone alone but Youtube music and ad free watching is the cherry on top. The shows are all shite, yeah but there are two pretty decent series in Wayne and Kobra Kai. At any rate, 2.50 a week to save the time and annoyance of ads and to have Youtube music on your phone while locked. Hell if you are paying for another music streaming service and you use Youtube you are a fool not to switch.

Time to see how it compares to promises in the Real World.

Why not Amazon Prime instead? It's cheaper, also has music included, much better shows + movies, books included and free shipping included.

I tried to ignore it, but every day a thread show up and a lot of ads on YT.

Youtube music has the most variety of music, known to man in the history of man. Looking at the benifets now Amazon Prime is a good deal if you're into that sort of thing and most importantly if you are American, i pay for audibles token and price discounts but I did use Prime for a month when the boys came out and besides for watching that and some of Man in the high castle there is very little else to watch and what is worthy has to be bought or its subscriptions on top of subscriptions. It's basically the google Stadia of film streaming, shite. I've not touched the music but I can't imagine it being anywhere near Youtubes variety. If they threw in a free token for audible I'd pay for Prime just so I can get the better value deal for something I already avail of but I'd pay double not to have to go anywhere near Prime Video, until The Boys season 2 releases anyway, oh and the people who read books on a screen or even a kindle are nut bags.

I don't agree with Youtube RED, I don't wanna pay for one must have feature but like I said, it's worth every penny and more for that one feature of being able to lock your phone alone and the Youtube music app is the gravy.

Well, I don't need most variety of music, known to man in the history of man. My music taste doesn't seem to change anymore.

I already have all my favorite songs of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s on my phone, it only uses a fraction of my microSD card.
No further streaming costs or dependence to have an internet connection... and of course the music app doesn't stop playing when the display is off.

Man, I'm feeling old while writing this.

That is exactly the feature I pay for though, it doesn't turn off with RED and you can also download and save. Try the free month, I was a non believer too until it blew my mind with it's convenience in my life, I use Youtube quite a lot though regardless of music or the music app.

I didn't want to make a thread about this but I'm curious does anyone here have Google stadia for there phone right now? It launched today in east coast USA

I'm not interested by cloud gaming, I think it's too soon, the technology is not ready, too much lag and other issues. Also it's not as cheap as it seems. First there's 120 dollars for the controller, that's too much for a system that boasts of saving you the trouble of getting hardware. Then there's the subscription, I'm not too hot on subscriptions as I like to control how much I pay for stuff. And the worst part is that despite paying for an overpriced controller AND a subscription you still have to pay for games... FULL PRICE mind you!

And as if all that wasn't bad enough, you are paying full price for games you ONLY "rent" or get an access to as you don't own them. It's just a pass to play those games. Why should I pay full price for just a pass that Google may decide without notice to take away from me at any time?

Also I don't play on phones, I use my TV for that.

I have played the Stadia for 10 hours or so, and found that is actually really good. I cannot even tell that the game is being streamed. I have tested it on internet of about 40mbs and it still ran perfectly. I have found that it almost never lags and feels responsive.
The UI is really bad, but the actual playing of games is solid.
