Funny, Amazon get's trashed on this site all the time and as it turns out: VGchartz has an agreement with them.

The amazon store on vgchartz is new.

I never see amazon trashed, just the best sellers page is....

All they can ship. Europe is already sold out completely and I expect the same for the US.
Nintendo said they wanted WiiFit to be the biggest Nintendo thing ever in terms of PR, so I would imagine they ship more than Brawl. For US I expect 2 million first week, for Europe 1 million.

Believe!

Ioi, do you have any idea how many sales you'll need on a daily basis to fully cover the costs involved with the website?

Hurray for the VGChartz store.

Now if only he could parlay a the successful store into not only money but all sales info. That would be a huge boon ioi. I think going forward having a major etailer as a data point will be very valuable. (You may have someone already I don't know)

And WiiFit..... The weight of it all might be crushing me and I like the game. What is really going ot limit sales is getting enough Wiis in store in the US.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

The answer to week 1 is simple.... how many can Nintendo make for week 1?

I rarely pre-order, as big titles often have specials from some store that you don't know about until a few days before launch. However, I did make an exception and preordered wii-fit simply because it is part hardware and it is likely to be a sell out. It shouldn't be as hard to make as the wii itself, so it should only be hard to get for a few months, but just easier to proder and not worry about it. If software sells out, rarely does it take more than a couple of weeks for supply to catch up with demand.

Since so many ask. Reggie said that first week supply will be >1 Million Units, in NA.

Well lets speculate. Lets say only the server costs are 100$/month, and an avarage item costs 40$, by 5% for VGC means 50 items a month. But thats really rough, You need the to see also the time invested and the server can easily take up to 250$/month (if it is way more, than VGC has true server power right know). So I guess 150-250 a month is the bare minimum so the site can operate at a healty profit, but that just guesses.

Now nobody needs to tell me about sample sizes and statistics and all the rest of it - i fully understand the limitations of such things - but if our newly opened VG Chartz Store (http://www.vgchartz.com/astore.php) is anything to go by then Wii Fit will be huge. We have had around 30 items ordered in total in three days (which is a reason for celebration in itself - if we can keep this up and build it up further then the idea of adding the store has been more than justified) and 12 of those are Wii Fit preorders.

Like I say, I am sure we only represent something like 0.001% of all sales nationwide and we do have a lot of people on the site who would like Wii Fit (as well as a thread dedicated to it) but still I think it is a mild indicator as to just how big the title will be.

What are people thinking for week 1 in Europe and week 1 in America?

It is fine, but it def. needs work. Maybe from helpers. On a game page, I want the buy button to be for my country for the right game. At the moment you just need to much clicks to buy, e.g. a rule of internet shops is that you should be able to buy in 5 clicks, if it is more, a lot of people just stop in the process ;)

what a good idea adding a store to vgchartz ioi, keep up the good work!

One question ioi can the store track if its a member or a guest making the purchase? Just thinking most of the VGC users end up being more core gamers, while guests like browsing and could be anything from hardcore to the new non gamer. Just an interesting thought I had about when tracking the numbers, you might be take a shot into the dark into which groups those games are selling to.

PS - Just had another idea, is there anyway to add a voluntary survey to the store? Maybe get some stats from buyers with a nice and short survey.
