The quote "the soul is still burning" is so vague it might be a Legacy of Kain remake for all we know. Its as possible as a Demon Souls remake right now.
Shadow of the Collossus just got a proper remaster, I think that one is off the table.

Even worse. There is one particular game/franchise associated with this phrase.

Had no idea. I hope its not case, wouldnt want it to be a fighting game.

Same although I do love Soul Calibur. I hope it's Legacy of Kain. Barely got a chance to really play these games but from what I did they seemed really good.

I do not believe its Demon's Soul related. Why would they bother with Demon's Souls when Bloodborne was commissioned to be SONY's own Souls game?

I dont believe SONY would commission Bluepoint to do a full remake of Legend of Dragoon; a JRPG. Unless westernizing it is part of the re imaging, which I actually wouldn't be against.

LoD is one of the most westernized JRPGs out there already.

It's action oriented even as it's turn based.

It's soundtrack was made by both an american composer and a japanese one.

They made magic a side part of the gameplay which is only accessed normally by items and specially in dragoon mode, humans don't simply cast spells or something.

They made sure the chars were grounded and realistic, the woman in my signature was originally designed having green hair and they changed it to black to look like a real woman instead of a fantasy character.

There is a lot of fantasy on the game for sure, but americans where much more attracted to the game than the japanese, it sold more than double in USA than JPN.

Yes, that is why is why I said I wouldn't mind a fully westernized reimagining because artistically it lends itself to that style. I was more thinking mechanically as its very Japanesy and I couldn't see a western developer adhering those systems.

It's probably Demon's Souls. Although I think it's too seen to be remaking that, They should've picked something from PS1 days. Legend of Dragoon could've been a great pick.

I want it to be metal gear solid but Konami. It's gonna be ICO, no doubt.

There's no way a remake of ICO could ever be called bigger and more ambitious than a remake of SotC so that's out.

After looking up the souls quote, I have my doubts that's what Bluepoint is working on. For starters, it wasn't a guy from Bluepoint saying it. It was Colin Moriarty, former IGN senior editor. I don't think he was saying it in direct connection to Bluepoint, either. He said that he was expecting an announcement at State of Play for a PS4 remaster, presumably of Demon's Souls. The thing is, this isn't a simple remaster. This is supposed to be a bigger undertaking than SoTC. A reimagining as Bluepoint puts it. Colin also says that it is for the PS4. Bluepoint is working on something for the PS5, according to the Wired article.

Considering Demon's Souls age, or lack thereof, I think a remaster is all that is needed for that game, possibly for a launch date of 2021 on PS4, since Sony still likes to support their systems a couple of years after the successor launches. I think Bluepoint is working on something from the PS1 or PS2 era. Something that actually requires a reimagining.
