Finally got round to a rewatch of Spectre.
I really like the start but overall its rather boring. Waltz so enjoyable normally is so badly miscast.

There are good elements and Fiennes, Harris and Whishaw continue to impress but i was left disappointed after Skyfall.

I need to get around to Skyfall and SPECTRE. After the delay was announced I lost a lot of momentum :(

I don't want to watch Spectre again. It's the only Bond movie I've ever fallen asleep to while watching.

So Spectre was on TV last night and it reminded me of this thread, so I watched it for the purpose of posting here.

I think there's a lot to like, initially at least. The pre-title sequence is really good, and the pacing and mood of the first half / two thirds or so is spot on. It takes a little while to come together, and I think there's a desolation to some of the shots and scenes that is really effective. OHMSS throwback is nice.

Then after the train scene, it all goes to pot. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a worse plot point in the series than tying Bond to Blofeld in the way that they do. An abysmal contrivance. Swann is also now in love with Bond after about three days, although I can let that slide as that's the sort of thing that happens in this universe. Then we have the finale in London, which just seems to drag on.

Torn on a score here, as it starts off so well. I'll go for a 4, as it really falls to pieces towards the end. Also, the theme song is poor.

Over a year delay and Bond 25 is finally released. Got tickets for the weekend so will complete my final review next week.

Gotta love the polls results here. No votes for Quantum of Solace and Specter. It seems the Craig era follows the Windows pattern of one good, one bad. Good news is we're due for a good one now.
