I genuinely want a Wario & Waluigi RPG where they try to pull off a scam to get rich quickly, "The Producers" style.

Considering how stale Mario and Luigi has gotten, this could be the game the that series needs to freshen things up.

I don't know about unique mechanics, but if it's in her homeland, which is partly Egyptian-based, I think a more appropriate re-design would be in order.

Considering that Daisy has been known to utter cliched American cowgirl expressions like "Yee-haw!", my impression of Sarasaland has been that it's really supposed to represent desert areas in the abstract, not necessarily just Egypt.

It's weird to me that Luigi is saving Mario and not Daisy in the Luigi's Mansion games. They also could of made her playable in the NSMB games in place of a second Toad. If they wanted to they could have used her, which makes me think they don't wanna use her. Possibly because Peach can already fulfill any role Daisy could, be it damsel in distress or female playable character, so Daisy would be redundant. That's just a theory of course.

I don't think it'll ever happen, but I wouldn't be against a Daisy game. There's no way it'd be story driven though, the Mario series ain't about that. Look at Paper Mario which went as far as to allow Peach n Bowser to speak and be relevant throughout the whole game rather than just the beginning and end. Then Miyamoto came and put a stop to that. He wants the series to be unevolving and stagnant, which is fair enough it's his game. I don't think they'll allow Daisy to be anything more than the excitable energetic princess, but I'd love to be wrong.

Concerning Luigi's Mansion, I don't think it's weird at all that Luigi would be set up to rescue someone other than his assertive, punchy girlfriend who seems like she'd be a particularly difficult person to contain. (I also like it better as is. There's no annoyingly gendered feel to the Luigi's Mansion franchise like there is to most Super Mario games, frankly.)

What you say about New Super Mario Bros. though has always made sense to me. The franchise's character roster was obviously driven by that of the American version of Super Mario Bros. 2 (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Toadstool), but minus Peach and plus an extra Toad...yeah. The extra Toad was used so they could make Peach a damsel in distress. But why wouldn't you use a logical alternative to Peach as the fourth playable character then...like Daisy! Why a second Toad?

In the most recent version of NSMBU, they 'rectify' the bonus Toad substitution partially by including a Toadette who inexplicably transforms into a Peach clone. *scratches head* I mean it works great in terms of game play! Toadette/"Peachette"* is the most practical character to use, generally speaking. But sill, it's hard to understand that particular choice either narratively or just aesthetically. If they really believe that Peach specifically has to be kidnapped so often, why not then use Daisy or Rosalina as an alternative playable character in these sorts of games? It's not like there aren't options more sensible than a completely arbitrary fabrication who transforms and goes by two names.

As to the whole 'it can't be story-drive because Miyamoto doesn't like those types of elements', well okay. Like I said, I'm not exactly counting on a Daisy game happening at all. I'm realistic about the chances. But I would say that Miyamoto perhaps underestimates the amount of interest that many fans have in the story arcs of Super Mario characters. One evidence of this would be the comparatively negative receptions that have been given to those Paper Mario installments released after The Thousand-Year Door. The more recent Paper Mario games have muted the storytelling and character development elements of the first three Mario RPGs, and fans haven't liked the newer ones as much. In fact, there was a whole fan movement to get the last Paper Mario game cancelled pre-release after it was revealed that it would be similar to Sticker Star.

As well, I'm a socialist. I don't really believe in intellectual property. I believe that these franchises in a sense belong to everyone who loves them, not just their original creators. Everyday people who love these franchises should be afforded some real say in their development, IMO.

* "Peachette." So she's a Peach clone...BUT FEMALE? Isn't Peach 1 female anyway? What's supposed to be the hook here??

So just turn her into a generic cowgirl? Boring. -_-

Lol, not what I said!

I know, but I had a feeling that's the direction they'd go for.

Besides, it'd be nice if the Mario universe gave more representation to Middle Eastern cultures besides just random Egyptian pyramids, and Daisy might look good like this.

And she'd no longer be a Peach clone.

I actually LIKE that particular look! That one's cool!
