Forums - Sports Discussion - The NFL Thread 2019: The Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl LIV

Who do you believe will have a stronger defense in 2020?

Patriots 2 66.67%

Steelers 1 33.33%

Total:3

Now an interception.
Jesus Christ, this 1st half is even more one sided than the 1st half of Week 12.

Raheem Mostert is having a Derrick Henry type of game.

Packers run D looking like my Madden run D 😆😆

LOL HOW ABOUT DEM PACKERS.

What’s wrong with a time out or milking the clock? Didn’t KC just erase a 24 point lead in like 10 minutes last week?

Another Kansas City game with an entertaining first half and a lame second half. Well done, Chiefs, but you won't beat the Packers.

Monkey's paw curls

Anyway congrats to Rol for advancing. The other matchup's picks

Level1Death: 49ers by 10, Titans by 4

sethnintendo: Packers by 3, Chiefs by 7

Both users were 1-1. Level1Death's PDT was 7+11+4=22, while sethnintendo had 3+17+4=28. Given that Level1Death is the higher seed, he advances without needing to worry about HFA.

Go 9ers!

Awesome game. I was asking all of my friends and coworkers to bet that the niners would smash the packers again. Not even their most diehard fans were willing, they knew they had no chance. None. No one dimensional team has ever won a superbowl. The packers get a REAL running game going, then watch out for them.

Matt LaFleur didn't show anything that made anyone think that he has learned from week 12. The only difference was that the second half was played with a bit more dignity than during the regular season.

Speaking of dignity, the 49ers lack it. They called a timeout with 11 seconds left in the first half when they were up 27 points. They went for a delay of game plus false start before a punt in the fourth quarter which is bottom of the barrel behavior that any NFL fan should condemn.

Looking at the whole Packers season, it was a good year after missing the playoffs two times in a row before. While the first miss was understandable with Rodgers missing half of the season, the second miss was shameful which in turn set a low bar for Matt LaFleur. He comfortably cleared that threshold, but his coaching in big games in particular and his ability (or rather lack thereof) to adjust his gameplan in general are clear shortfallings. A 13-3 record coupled with reaching the NFC championship game looks great on paper, but a rather easy schedule and the circumstance to avoid the Saints in the divisional playoffs helped quite a bit to bolster his resume. This would have been more of a 10-6 or 11-5 season with an elimination in the wild card round or divisional playoffs in a usual year where stars neither align or bad luck plays a major role.

As for the prediction league, I was off by 4 points in the AFC game and off by 4 points in the NFC game. With HFA applied, that's a 2-0 record and a margin or error of only 2 points. I am going to the Super Bowl!

So you're mad that the niners understand the rules and exploited them? Start a petition and get the NFL fo change them. Regardless,  the packers looked like a high school team up against the 49ers. The same tactic was used against the pats...  Even if the 49ers didnt use that, the game was over at halftime.

GO 49ERS!!!!!!!

SO many non holding calls on KC. NFL rigged it. Like they did last year against KC. This year for KC. I wish XFL had a shod but it doesn't. I'm done with the NFL. 25 years of watching. Last few years been too obvious how rigged it is.

You do know that there is pretty much some kind of holding on almost every play if the refs would call all holds and penalties the NFL would be a unwatchable flag fest and all other forms of American football would be also.  Heck pretty much all contact team sports would be close to unwatchable if all fouls and penalties would be called by the refs.
