Net profit is very low considering they sold 20 million games and have the online subscription? That's barely a million usd in profits wut?

It's 16,604m yen (a.k.a 16.6 Billion). Not 16.6 Million yen.

Some countries use . instead of , I think. Sometimes I see people say 6,5 for 6 and a half million etc.

Yeah got it in the other thread, I honestly would have read 16 million 604 thousand Yen.

Dem Mario Kart 8 Legs!

At the current rate, it will need until summer 2023 to beat Mario Kart Wii. Assuming saturation and holiday spikes cancel each other out, and no Switch successor before 2023, I think that it has a real chance to reach that goal around that time.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous, it's selling better with age. It's the game on Switch that everyone picks up.

Date Shipments Total YOY
June 30th 2017 3.54m 3.54m n/a
September 30th 2017 0.88m 4.42m n/a
December 31st 2017 2.91m 7.33m n/a
March 31st 2018 1.89m 9.22m n/a
June 30th 2018 1.13m 10.35m -68.00%
September 30th 2018 1.36m 11.71m +54.00%
December 31st 2018 3.31m 15.02m +14.00%
March 31st 2019 1.67m 16.69m -12.00%
June 30th 2019 1.2m 17.89m +6.00%

July 1st 2017 to June 30th 2018 it shipped 6.81m.
July 1st 2018 to June 30th 2019 it shipped 7.54m.

So for the same period, a year later, it shipped 10.7% more. xD

Though a lot of that may be down to overshipping in the launch quarter that isn't counted above, so the September 30th quarter was really low. But even if September 2017 matched September 2018 it'd still be up YoY a bit.
